Chapter 135

Avi and Scott were the only two that hadn't eaten lunch, so while they sat and ate, Kevin stood on one side of Scott to re-wrap his wounded hand. Kirstie was on the other side of Avi, Grace asleep in her arms as she spoke to her Alpha quietly. Mitch stood behind Scott, his chin on Scott's shoulder while Kevin fixed his hand. Kevin spoke to him occasionally. "Does it hurt very often?" "No. Just when I try to do something overly demanding, I guess." "I see." Scott took another bite of the salad in front of him, and then watched Kevin work on his hand as he chewed. Mitch spoke up then. "How long is he going to be injured?" "Well... His leg should be fully healed by tomorrow. Shoulder should be doing alright. And his hand... I'd say.. Next week at the latest." Mitch frowned, hating how often his Alpha was hurt. "Okay." Kevin patted Scott's forearm when he was done, leaning forward to get Scott's attention before speaking. "I'll make the Counsel aware of your ailment, so they won't test you on any physical activities. Though I'm sure it's only going to be interviews." "Okay. Thank you." "In the meantime, I recommend de-stressing yourself. Just.. Relax today. Please." "I will." Scott responded with a nod, though Kevin didn't believe him. Kevin shifted his attention to Mitch. "Make him take a bath when he's done eating. That should help as well." Mitch nodded, smiling at him. "Yes, Sir." Todrick, after doing the dishes, walked back out to the living room to see Alex cuddled up to Jake as he hid from the scary movie. He didn't say anything, because he wondered how they would act without knowing he was there. Jake picked up on Alex's fear, and quickly paused the movie, setting a hand on Alex's chest. "Babe, I told you we don't have to watch this. We could just as easily watch one of your cartoons." "No thank you. This is the movie you wanted to see." "I know it is. But I can watch it some other time. You know Scott loves these movies, I'm sure he'd watch with me." "But, I..." Alex pouted, and finally looked up to meet his eyes. "I want to do something that makes you happy too." "What are you talking about?" Jake pressed a quick kiss to Alex's hand, as he held it tightly. "You make me happy." Although Alex blushed, he kept pushing the subject. "I mean... You always do the things I want to do. But I want to do something that you want to do." "Allie, come on. We do plenty of the things that I want to do. You're like... The sweetest human being on the earth. You always make sure that I'm content in whatever we decide to do." Alex sat up a little, just to cuddle even closer to Jake, Jake's arm tightening around him. "I just... Want to make sure that you know how much I love you."
