Chapter 34
The late lunch was peaceful, seeing as the pack had just been through a rough couple of days. Everyone seemed almost... Relaxed. There were still things that needed to be done. Figuring out Kevin and Todrick's situation. Planning Avi and Kirstie's wedding. Working out Mitch and Jamie's situation, ensuring that the Omega was safe in the process. The New Counsel. And Scott had some personal problems that he needed to take care of. But for the time being, everyone was ignoring all of those things. Just.. Living in the moment. Mitch ate everything he was given without being told to. Scott and Avi did not argue. Which to Kevin, is a blessing. When everyone had finished, Scott offered to the dishes, which automatically meant that Mitch would be in there too so he wouldn't be alone. Kevin put his plate in the sink and then smiled at Scott, both of them knowing full well that it was Kevin's turn to do the dishes. "Thank you." Scott just patted his shoulder and smiled. Mitch walked into the kitchen then, Avi and Kirstie's plates in hand. Scott added them to the stack, and then Kevin walked in with the utensils they'd used, followed by Avi carrying their cups. Kirstie walked in and leaned up a little to whisper in Avi's ear for a second, and then Avi nodded at whatever she'd said before following her into the living room. Kevin leaned against the kitchen counter while Scott started scrubbing the dirty dishes. He glanced over at Kevin for a moment. "Missing Todrick?" "More than anything I've ever longed for." Mitch walked over and hugged Kevin suddenly. "I'm so glad that he makes you happy. You deserve someone too." Kevin hugged him back, closing his eyes a little. "I guess I do. I just hadn't realized it until now." Scott continued what he was doing. "You should invite him over for dinner or something, sometime. Have him bring the others too, even. Mitch would probably love to see Alex again." Mitch moved away from Kevin and nodded. "I would! I haven't seen Allie in a while." Kevin thought for a moment. "You know what? You're right. I'm going to go talk to Avi about it." And then he was out of the room without another word. Mitch walked up to Scott then and giggled, pointing at a spot on his shirt. "You got soap on your shirt!" "Will you look at that, I guess I did." Mitch grabbed the hem of Scott's shirt and started pulling it up. "Well, you can't wear this anymore." Scott set down the plate he was washing to try and stop Mitch, but didn't have the heart to as he saw Mitch's large smile. Scott let him pull it off, and smiled down at him when Mitch couldn't meet his eyes, looking at everything else on Scott's stomach and chest instead, including his dog tag.
Scott turned to the sink again, picking up a sponge and a dish to continue his task. Mitch continued to stare at him, but Scott started to get uncomfortable. "Mitchie, can you stop looking at me like that?" Mitch's head snapped up to see the blush lightly dusting Scott's cheeks. "Why?" "I don't know. You're just.. Making me feel weird." Scott replied awkwardly. Mitch hugged him sideways, resting his forehead on Scott's arm. "Sorry. You're very attractive." "Thank you, Sweetheart." Scott mumbled offhandedly. Mitch smiled into Scott's arm. "You're still wearing your necklace..." "Of course, baby." Mitch grabbed his and held it up towards Scott, although his attention was drawn somewhere else. "Me too. See?" Scott nodded and looked down at him. "I see, Sweetie." He could see that Mitch wanted more acknowledgement for what he'd done, so Scott leaned down and kissed him briefly. "What a good boy, you are." Mitch giggled again and nodded. "I am." Scott washed yet another dish, while Mitch just held him. Avi walked in at some point, getting Kirstie a drink. "Again with the shirtless stuff?" Scott just shook his head, honestly too tired to come up with anything to say back. Mitch let go of him and turned to smile at Avi. "I think it's something everyone should do." "Why's that?" "Because we're all beautiful. I mean, look at my Alpha!" Mitch exclamined, turning to gesture at Scott. Scott just continued what he was doing, trying to hide his blush from them. Avi looked Scott up and down, before winking at Mitch. "You're a lucky guy, Peanut." *******
