Chapter 84
Scott rushed to catch Mitch as he fell. Scott's head snapped up to look at Avi as he held the passed out Omega. Avi shook his head. "We need Kevin." Scott nodded and picked Mitch up in his arms, before running out the front door. He found the cabin easily, as he could smell Kirstin before he even got to the doorstep. Scott knocked frantically. He kissed Mitch's forehead for a brief second. "Please be okay.." He mumbled. Kevin opened the door, and furrowed his eyebrows. "What happened?" Scott shook his head and pushed past him. Scott walked directly into the kitchen, this cabin set up similarly to the Pentatonix Cabin. Scott pushed everything off of the dining room table, not caring where it fell. He then gently placed Mitch on the now open space. Scott pulled off his shirt, and folded it neatly under Mitch's head. Kevin was now feeling Mitch's head, and he frowned. "Scott.. He has a terrible fever.." Scott came around the table, dog tags jingling against each other around his neck.
Scott placed a hand on Mitch's forehead to confirm. Kevin felt Mitch's pulse then. "What even happened?" "I don't really know. His sense of smell was wrong, and his instincts were all off.. And then he just passed out. Like he was in overdrive or something." Scott said honestly. Kevin nodded. "His pulse is okay.. I think you're probably right. His mind became muddled and then in an attempt to fix it, his body worked too hard and knocked him out." "But what caused it?" Kevin sighed, looking Mitch up and down. "Could be a number of things. The stress of the pack being apart, anything that happens with you.. Is he still taking suppressants?" Scott nodded sadly. "Every morning." "That could be it. How long does he have to take them?" Kevin asked. Scott just stared at Mitch's emotionless face. "I don't know. I'm just waiting for Avi to tell me to stop. Mitch isn't as upset about it anymore." Kevin nodded slowly. "Okay.. And when was the last time he ate something?" "Couple hours ago. I fed him myself." Kevin nodded again. "My best guess.. Is that he's stressed out about everything that's happening with The Counsel. He rarely talks about being stressed out, correct? So he bottles it up inside of himself, and sometimes it just bursts. It all comes out at once, which is what caused him to pass out." Scott nodded. "Okay. Thank you.. When will he wake up?" Kevin really thought about it, before shrugging. "You could probably wake him up now. You are his Alpha, after all. I think he's going to be fine. His brain just needed a second to catch up." Scott nodded and came up next to Mitch's head. Grabbing one of his hands, Scott bent down to kiss Mitch's forehead. Scott lingered by Mitch's ear when he pulled back. "Wake up, Omega." He said calmly, but firmly. Mitch jumped and his eyes flew open. "S-Sir? What..?" Scott smiled and kissed his nose before standing up straight. "Welcome back, Sweetheart. You passed out a little.." Mitch sat up but Scott put his hands on Mitch's shoulders. "Hey.. Slow down." Mitch laid back down. "I don't understand. Why did I..?" Kevin looked over Scott's shoulder. "You -uh. You stressed yourself out so much it caused you to pass out..." Mitch's head quickly looked over at him. "Oh. Hi, Kevin!" "Hello." Kevin said with a smile. Suddenly, Kirstin yelled really loud from the bedroom. Kevin turned and ran without a second thought. Scott's eyes turned red, but he gripped the table as tight as he could and he squeezed his eyes shut. Mitch turned over and put a hand on one of Scott's forearms. "Don't fight it. If you have to go, go." Scott shook his head, knuckles turning white. Kirstin yelled again, and Scott flinched like someone had physically slapped him. Mitch sat up and threw his arms around Scott's body. "Don't hurt yourself.. Please." Scott just shook his head. "I'm fine." He grumbled. Scott pulled away from him and put his hands over his ears as Kirstin cried out again. Mitch hopped off the table, grabbed Scott's shirt and ran towards him. "Sir, we should go home. Come on." Scott let himself be dragged out of the house, and then Mitch continued marching straight towards their cabin. Half way there, Scott pulled back on Mitch's arm and hugged him. Mitch kept his arms tightly around Scott as Scott breathed in Mitch's neck. Mitch allowed it, and didn't move. Scott breathed in deeply again and then pulled away. Mitch handed him his shirt, and watched as Scott slipped it over his head, pulling his necklace out from under. Mitch looked at him curiously. Scott shook his head a few times. "Okay. I'm good now." Mitch raised an eyebrow. Scott smiled. "No, really. I'm perfectly fine." Mitch nodded. "Fine. But tell me if you're not." Scott huffed. "Says you. You're the one who just passed out from too much stress. Do you not trust me enough to tell me things?" Mitch looked at the ground, running one of his shoes through the dirt. "I trust you." He mumbled. "Then why don't you tell me when you're upset?" Mitch sighed and finally met Scott's eyes. "You have so much to worry about as it is. With Avi.. Kirstin.. The Counsel.." Scott grabbed Mitch's hand and again started walking towards their cabin. "I never have too much to worry about. Never. I'll always have time for you." Mitch kept quiet as they approached their house. As soon as they got to the doorstep, Scott stopped and faced Mitch. Mitch timidly met his eyes. "Y-Yes, Sir?" Scott stared intently at him. "Please don't make me have to Alpha Voice you into telling me things." Mitch shook his head. "Please don't.." "Then you have to tell me things. Understood?" Mitch nodded frantically, and Scott turned and walked inside. ******
