Chapter 139
Mitch had barely walked out of their bedroom when the doorbell rang. He jumped and Scott accidentally ran into his back. "Oh! Sorry, Mitchie." Mitch just stood in front of him, frozen to the spot. Scott walked around and met his eyes. "Mitch?" Mitch shook his head and his hands came up to cover his mouth. "Oh God. I can't do this." Scott grabbed his hands and kissed them. "Yes you can. I know you can. Your family loves you." "But what about The Alpha's parents? What if I'm not good enough?" Mitch asked quietly. Scott shook his head. "Impossible. They're going to love you. Just you wait." Mitch squeezed Scott's hand as tight as he could while Scott lead him down the hall. Kevin had already let the first guests in, and Mitch was grateful they weren't Avi's parents. Not quite yet. Kirstie squealed when she saw them. "Oh my gosh, hi Mom! Hi Dad!" Her Dad chuckled and opened his arms for her to run into. She quickly hugged her mother afterwards. Kevin opened the door again after the loud knock. He gasped at the sight of his own parents. "Hello, you two! It's been forever." Mitch stood frozen behind Scott, clinging to his arm hard enough to leave bruises. His own parents walked in then, carrying a crate in their arms. Mitch's mother's face positively lit up when she saw the small boy. "Oh, Mitchell! Look at you." Mitch ran over and gave her a hug, before hugging his father. "I missed you guys so much!" His Dad chuckled and handed Mitch the crate he was holding. "You didn't forget about little Wyatt, did you?" Mitch gasped and covered his face with his hands. "Never! Oh my goodness, look how big you are now!" Mitch's mom took the small cat out of his carrying crate, and let Mitch cradle him in his arms. Mitch turned around to find Scott, who had easily made himself almost invisible as he lingered in the back of the room. Mitch smiled at him. "Want to meet my cat?" Scott slowly walked over to him. "I'm allergic to cats.." "You can't be allergic to this one. He has no fur." Mitch said with a grin. Scott stared at the hairless creature and then smiled at Mitch. "He's adorable. What's his name?" Mitch let Scott pet him a little. "Wyatt. Wyatt Blue Grassi." He turned to give the cat back to his mother, but gasped and turned back around. "Oh my gosh! We can call him Wyatt Blue Grassi-Hoying!" Scott chuckled. "If you want to." Mitch squealed as he put the cat back in its crate. "It's perfect!" The entire room seemed to go cold as Avi's parents walked in the door. Kevin closed the door quietly, now that everyone had arrived. Avi gulped and stood up as tall as he could when he walked over to them. "Good evening Mother, Father. Hello again, Esther." His father gave him a brief nod. "Hello Avriel. How are you?" "I am well, thank you for asking. And yourselves? I hope the trip wasn't too terrible." Avi said politely. Scott's jaw nearly hit the floor. He'd never, ever seen Avi act this way. It was like.. If Kevin were an Omega. That's how polite he would be. Esther came around and gave Avi a hug. "I missed you." He smiled and pulled away. "I missed you too." Avi's father glanced around at everyone in the room. "Perhaps we should all sit down. Avriel, you could do introductions, yes?" Avi nodded a few times. "Of course. Right this way." He lead all the families over to the couch, the Omegas sitting while the Alphas stood behind them. Esther sat on the floor beside the couch, and gave Avi an encouraging smile. Avi lined his pack up in front of everyone, before standing next to them and beginning to speak. "Welcome all! It's so nice to see you all again. I'll begin, I guess. My name is Avriel, or Avi to most. I am the Lead Alpha in this pack. My Omega's name is Kirstin, and she is right over there." He gestured towards her, and she gave a little wave. "Hi there." Avi smiled at her and then patted Scott's back. "This giant thing right here, is another Alpha in our pack. His name is Scott, and the cute little Omega next to him, belongs to him. His name is Mitchell." Scott smiled at Mitch's parents. "Or Mitch, to most of us. And if you're Kevin, it's Mitchie." Some of the parents laughed, but not Avi's. Kevin raised a hand then. "That leaves me, I guess. My name is Kevin, and I am the one and only Beta in this pack." Avi clapped his hands together then. "And together, we form the Pentatonix Pack. Does anyone have any questions? Things I need to clear up?" Kevin's mother started speaking almost immediately. "Is it true that you five took down The Counsel?" Avi nodded. "Yes." Kevin interjected, "Well, it was more those three than all five of us." He waved a hand over to Avi, Scott and Mitch.
Avi's father spoke then, his tone cold. "The two Alphas I understand. But an Omega? Highly unlikely." Scott subtly slipped a hand into Mitch's back pocket to calm him down without drawing attention to themselves. Avi nodded. "Mitchell was actually a crucial part in the act itself. He has a sense of smell better than Scott and I's combined, if you can believe it. He is the one that lead us away from danger. Kept us all safe." Mitch's father smiled proudly at his son, although Mitch didn't see him. Kirstin's mom expressed her amazement audibly. "Wow. That's incredible. Avriel.. To say the least? Your pack is almost.. Legendary."
