Chapter 62
After returning home, and getting paid for yet another day of being the World's Strongest Alpha, Scott finally had enough money to buy Mitch's special dress. Sadly, since Scott wasn't allowed to see it, he sent Mitch out with Avi, Alex and Kirstie. Scott was leaning against the car, clearing it all up with Avi. "Yes, that's what I said." "You want him to spend all of it? Every single dime? Scott, I don't think you realize how much money this is." "Of course I realize how much money it is. Yes, I want him to spend all of it. If there's enough extra, just get something for Kirstie or something." Avi started the car, shaking his head. "You're an idiot." "Why? Because I like to spend money on him?" "Because-- You know what? I don't have time to argue this with you. Remind me when I get back." Scott gave a curt nod, and then took a few steps to the side to lean in Mitch's window. "Have fun, baby. Ignore Avi, okay? I want you to spend it all." Mitch nodded, and leaned over to kiss Scott through the open window. "Okay. Thank you." Scott moved away, and then waved at Alex, who was sitting next to Mitch. "Have fun, Xander." Alex waved back, smiling wide. "Okay! Bye bye!" Scott waved at Kirstie too, and then stopped at Avi's window once more. "I'm sure Kevin is already working on it, but are there any chores you want us to do?" "No. Just take it easy. And if Kevin is, tell him to stop." "Yes, Sir. I'll see you when you get back." **********
Scott had, of course, ignored Avi's command. Well, mostly, anyway. He did tell Kevin to relax, at least. Kevin and Todrick were sitting on the couch, doing last minute wedding preparations. Jake was sitting on the ground near them, but his attention was on the television playing in front of all of them. Scott first cleaned the upstairs, including the kitchen, living room, and his own room. Then he cleaned all the hardwood floors and each individual stair. Kevin glanced up at him when he walked past the couch, cleaning supplies practically falling from his grasp. "Alpha? What are you doing?" Scott frowned at him. "Trying not to think about it." Jake looked up too. "Think about what?" Scott turned his pout to Jake, and then walked away. "My baby in a wedding dress." Kevin frowned and stood from the couch to follow him into the kitchen. "Wait, Alpha--" Scott shook his head, dropping all of the cleaners, brushes, and wipes to the ground, before surging forward to hug Kevin tightly. "Avi's gonna get to see him first." "What?" Kevin hugged back of course, but Scott had tucked his head into Kevin's shoulder, so all his words came out mumbled. Scott repeated himself. "Avi gets to see him first... I wanted to see him first." "Oh, Scott... You'll get to see him too. And you'll even get to kiss him in the dress. Avi won't. Even better? You'll get to marry him in the dress. Avi won't." Scott smiled a little, and moved away to look Kevin in the eye. "You're right... You're right, thank you." "You're welcome, Alpha. If I may... I think you work yourself too hard sometimes. You have a very calming presence, but... I think you have a lot more going on in your head than you bring to the surface." Scott took a step away and shrugged, before bending to grab the things he'd dropped, and set them on the counter one by one. "I guess so." "That's why you fit in so well. You have a calm persona, surrounded in a lethal, protective Alpha." He began. Scott didn't say anything, just continued to pick up his things.
