Chapter 172
Avi fell to the ground, half from the hit but also half from being surprised. Connie gasped. "Rick! What are you doing?!" "Teaching this kid a lesson." He growled back. Avi slowly stood back up. "I can't believe you just did that." Rick glared at him, and Avi glared right back. Kevin pulled Kirstie into Scott's bedroom, where Mitch was trying to calm Scott back down. Kirstin tried to pull away. "No! We can't leave him!" Kevin just shook his head and pushed her into the room. "You're not safe out there." Scott stood from the bed instantly. "What happened?" "Your dad just hit The Alpha." Kevin said flatly. Scott snarled and then pushed past all of them to walk into the living room. He was way past 'last straw' with these people. He stormed into the living room and shoved his dad. "You're kidding me right? You did not seriously just hit My Alpha in his own home?" "You even call him your Alpha. God, you're so weak. How could you possibly be a Hoying?" Rick snapped at him. Scott shook his head slowly. "Get the Hell out. I mean it. If you think I'm afraid to fight you, you're wrong." "You'd fight your own dad? I'd like to see you try, you weakling." Rick growled. Avi laughed somewhere beside him. "Scott will kick your ass." Connie had backed up towards the front door out of fear. Rick's eyes slowly turned red. "I seriously doubt that." Avi stood beside Scott then. "Are we really about to do this?" Rick shrugged, and then gave Scott a sharp slap in the face. Scott's head turned at the impact, and then he held a hand to his burning cheek. "You still hit like you used to. Luckily, I don't."
He punched his dad square in the nose, and then watched him bend over in pain. Avi smiled a little. "Now is your last chance. Start running, Ricky." Rick slowly stood back up. Scott barely heard Kevin shout something, but it didn't register to him at the time. Then he saw Mitch running out of the hallway, worried about the pain he smelled on his Alpha. Scott instantly turned and pushed him a little towards the hallway. "Absolutely not. Go down the hall." Mitch frowned. "But are you--" Rick's eyes landed on Mitch. "Scott, tell your boy-toy to get out of here." "Don't call him that. You're disgusting." Scott growled back. Rick tilted his head at him. "Well don't forget who made you. Raised you. If I'm disgusting, so are you." "Fine. Maybe I am. But I don't act like you." Avi grumbled, "Thank God for that." Scott's cheek was still bright red from the slap. Mitch was still hiding behind him, while Rick started talking again. "I don't understand you. Any of you. Why would someone want a male Omega? That's just.. Egregious." Scott shook his head. "Why are you still even here? I want a male Omega. I don't need your approval." "Yes you do. I am your father and--" "No. You are nothing to me. Get. Out." Scott snarled with finality. Rick refused to break the glare, but eventually turned, grabbed Connie's arm and then left. Avi sighed when the door closed. "Scott. Please tell me that didn't actually happen." "Sorry." Scott answered shortly. Mitch whimpered behind him, and that made Scott turn around. Mitch put a hand on Scott's face. "He.. He hit you." Scott nodded once. Avi leaned over a little, trying to lighten the mood. "He hit me too, Peanut. No attention for me?" Mitch gave him a concerned look. "I'm sorry. I can't believe.." Kirstie came running out then, jumping on Avi in a hug, wrapping her legs around his waist. She pulled away and kissed his nose. "Are you okay? He hurt you." Avi held Kirstie tightly to ensure she wouldn't fall. "I know. But I'm fine, I promise. Don't worry, Princess." Mitch stared at Scott's cheek, and his bottom lip started to tremble. Scott frowned at him. "Oh, come on, Angel. Don't cry." Mitch shook his head and wiped at one of his eyes. "I'm sorry... I didn't.." Scott just shook his head, and picked Mitch up to hold on his hip as they walked down the hall. Mitch tucked his head into Scott's neck. "He hit you. Your own dad, hit you." "I know, Sweetheart." Kirstin kissed everywhere she could reach on Avi's face. "How could he hit such a lovely face?" Avi chuckled a little, closing his eyes as she peppered kisses all over his face. "Some people are awful weird these days." "Did he treat Scott like that his whole childhood? That's.. Awful. I can't even believe that." Kirstin said slowly. Avi nodded and started to carry her down the hall. "Where's Kevin?" "Hiding in his room. You know he hates arguments." Avi nodded and then went into their room. Scott sat down on the bed, Mitch running to the kitchen to grab him an ice pack, even though Scott claimed he didn't need it. Mitch ran back into the room a minute later, sitting next to Scott. He gently placed the ice pack on Scott's cheek, and Scott hissed at the cold. Mitch frowned and held the ice closer to Scott's face. "I'm sorry... Cold?" "A little." "Does it hurt..?" "Not so much." Mitch shook his head at him. He could smell the pain on Scott. It was no use for him to lie, because Mitch already knew. "Why are you lying?" "I'm not." "Now you're double lying. Why would you lie to me?" Scott sighed and pushed the ice away from his face, standing up. He started towards the door, but Mitch's whimper stopped him. "Where are you going?" Scott stopped, but didn't turn back around. "I'm sorry, Mitchie. I can't do this right now. I just.. I need to be alone for a little while." And then he disappeared into the hallway. Mitch sat frozen, unsure of what to do, the ice bag beside him on the bed. Avi walked past the room, coming back when he saw Mitch all by himself. He leaned in the doorway. "What are you up to, Peanut?" "I.. I don't really know."
