Chapter 117
While Kevin and Todrick had wanted to go to bed early, Alex begged them to stay to watch a movie with the others. Avi turned on one of his own favorites, as Kirstie had asked him to, and then he sat on the same couch as his Omega, Scott, and Mitch. Jake already had Alex leaning on him on the other couch, before Todrick and Kevin sat down as well. Scott's medicine kicked in about twenty minutes into the movie, and it made him laugh wildly at every single, even slightly humorous, thing that happened. If anyone was going to get annoyed, it would be Avi. But because he loved this movie, he loved that Scott was enjoying it. After that movie, Alex had fallen asleep, so Jake carried him down the hall to go to sleep. Avi told Kevin that if he stayed, he could pick the next movie, so he did. Kevin let Todrick pick though, because he didn't really mind what they watched. That intermission during Todrick taking time to pick a movie, was the time that Avi got up to use the restroom, and Mitch stood to make himself a hot chocolate, knowing Scott would want some too. Scott watched him leave, and then turned his head to zone out for a second, the only sound in the room being Todrick speaking to Kevin quietly to ask for his opinion on the movies he was scrolling through to choose one. When Scott looked back over, he immediately focused on Kirstie, who was sitting right beside him. "Hi!" She grinned at him. "Hi, Alpha." "How are you? You're so pretty! I can't believe I'm sitting next to someone so pretty." Kirstie giggled a little. "Aw, thank you! You're so cute." Scott giggled right back, turning to face her more, and then gasping and grabbing her hand. "Ooh." He held up his other hand, with his wedding ring on it. "I have one too!" "How cool! We're like.. Twins!" Kirstie answered purely to humor him. Scott gasped again, and nodded. "We are! That's so exciting!" Kirstie watched him carefully as he held her hand beside his other hand, comparing their rings side by side.
Scott mumbled something to her. "Am I your wife?" She laughed openly, before shaking her head. "No, you're not. For starters; You're a husband, not a wife." "Oh." He looked over at Kevin for a second, as if Kevin had asked him a question. "I'm a husband." And then he turned back to comparing their rings, turning his body back to Kirstie. "You're a wife?" "I am." "My wife?" "No." Todrick heard the conversation, and he briefly glanced at Kevin. "Is it... Just a coincidence that Scott always seems to ask about who he's married to when the medication takes over? Every single time he's gotten a bit delirious, he asks about his wedding ring. Why?" Kevin shrugged, staring at Kirstie and Scott, who were still conversing. "I think... It's hard for him to believe, even when he's at his best. So when he gets a little delirious, it's completely unfathomable." Kirstie watched Scott staring at both of their hands, and she felt the couch dip a little when Avi took his seat on her other side again. She tilted her head at Scott. "Do you not remember who your wife is?" "I have a wife? Why?" "Because you love each other, silly." She explained gently, giving him a small smile. Scott pouted, still looking at his hand, refusing to give Kirstie's hand back to her. "But... I want you to be my wife. You're so nice to me... I like when people are nice to me..." Kirstie smiled a little, and ducked down a little to try to catch his eye. "Hey... Don't be sad. Your real wife is so, so perfect for you. Wait until he comes back, you'll be amazed."
