Chapter 134

The morning flew by, in that by the time Scott had to go to the doctor, Kevin and Todrick were already making lunch. Scott was practically dragged out of the house, because he was slowly learning to hate hospital rooms. Mitch wanted to come with, but Avi wanted him to stay with Kirstie and help her care for Grace while he was out of the house. Meanwhile Alex and Jake were sitting on the couch watching a scary movie, as per Alex's request. Todrick brought Alex a Chamomile tea, hoping to calm his stomach ache a little, because Alex made the mistake of complaining about it again. When Todrick set it down on the coffee table in front of Alex, he met his eyes for a moment. "Drink this. It should work as an anti-inflammatory and hopefully help your tummy ache." Alex detached himself from Jake and sat up to gasp at the tea. "Oh, thank you so much! That's so nice of you to do." Todrick just smiled, patting Alex's back once as he walked by the couch, and quickly made eye contact with Jake. "Has he said anything? Is it hurting him terribly?" Jake just shook his head, one arm over Alex's shoulders when Alex leaned back into his embrace. "No. And he doesn't smell like he's suffering too much. I'll let you know though." "Thank you." He then walked back into the kitchen, and stood beside Kevin as he cooked. Kevin glanced over at him. "Are you okay? You seem... Distraught." "I'm just... Trying to think of what could be wrong. I can't think of any logical reason for Alex to be hurting." Kevin hummed. "Let's see. No surgery, no pregnancy... Not food poisoning because the symptoms are different. Oh... You said he's stressed a lot? Do you think it's an ulcer?" "I feel like he'd be in too much pain to be sitting on the couch right now if that were true." "Ah." Kevin nodded. "That's true. What else...?" "Could just be a cold. Or maybe he's allergic to something he doesn't know about?" "Maybe... I don't know." Todrick pouted. "Kev... You're supposed to know everything." Kevin chuckled, taking a quick break from cooking to put his arm around Todrick's waist. "Sorry to disappoint, my love." Todrick kissed his cheek. "I suppose I can forgive you. It's a good thing you're so cute." Kevin looked down with a small smile. "Oh... Thank you." ******* On the drive home from the doctor's, Scott refused to speak. Which made the ambiance seem odd, because Avi doesn't generally speak very often either. He glanced over at Scott once, curious if he was even awake. "Scott?" Scott's head turned quickly. "Sir?" "Oh. Oh.. Sorry." Scott didn't respond, just turned back to look out the window. "Is, um... Is something wrong?" "No." Avi smirked a little, because he knew. "Is it because of Mitchell?" Scott turned again. "What about him?" "He wants kids. And that's the only thing on the entire face of the earth that you won't get for him." Scott frowned at him. "Are you upset with me because of that?"
