Chapter 53
Mitch stood from the couch to follow Scott up the stairs, and Jake took his place beside Alex. Mitch quickly skipped up the stairs, before nearly crashing into Scott, who'd been waiting for him at the top step. Scott was still looking at the papers in his hands, so without looking he bent a little to hook his good arm around the backs of Mitch's thighs to pick him up and hold him against his hip. Mitch giggled as he was carried into their room, and then Scott, as gentle as one would set down an infant, set Mitch down onto the bed. Scott walked around the bed, grabbing a pen, and then took a seat at the top of the bed to rest his back on the headboard. "Come here please, baby." Mitch immediately turned to crawl over to him, sitting beside him while trying to copy his exact position. Scott glanced over for a second. "Don't be silly, honey. Sit like a normal person." "I am sitting like a normal person." "Let me rephrase, then. Sit like you normally would. Not me. You look... Terribly uncomfortable." Mitch giggled, shifting his legs around to sit Indian style. "Okay. I'm here now. What are we looking at?" He asked because he didn't want to look over at the papers without Scott's permission. Scott pushed them toward the small boy though. "Wanted you to look at some of these. This is the list of people invited, and these are a bunch of brochures for different places for us to be married. I want you to pick, Sweetheart." Mitch rifled through them with an excited smile. "You don't want to pick a place?" "No, I just... Can't bring myself to care, is all. I would marry you right in this very room." He grabbed one of Mitch's hands and smiled a little. "I don't care where we get married, my love. All that matters is I get to spend the rest of my life with you, my beautiful angel." Mitch quickly got up and then threw himself at Scott in a hug, wrapping both his legs and arms around Scott, tucking his face into Scott's neck. Scott gasped out of shock. "Are you okay?" Mitch squeezed him as tight as he could. "You're so sweet, I love you so much." "Oh, honey... I love you too." Mitch refused to move, so Scott looked over the papers anyway. Mitch clung to his body, so Scott just looked over his shoulder to scan the papers. "Mitchie?" "Yes, Alpha?" "Want to get married in Hawaii?" "Ooh. That sounds--"
"How about Fiji?" Mitch moved back to smile widely at him. "Oh my gosh, yes! Fiji is gorgeous!" Scott looked up all of a sudden. "Oops.. I didn't mean to interrupt you, baby. I'm so sorry." "It's fine. So, Fiji?" "Do you forgive me?" Mitch blinked a few times, smile fading. "We're having two completely different conversations. Yes, I forgive you. And please? Fiji?" Scott started looking through the pamphlet, but held it in front of Mitch so he could see it as well. "Kevin was sweet for putting this in here... But this is going to be so expensive. We can't possibly ask for this kind of money from Avi." "But... Okay. I see your point."
