Chapter 48
Kevin was kneeling on the ground beside the couch, giving Avi a back massage. "I know it was an accident. But please... Do me a favor and stop arguing with Scott about it." "I just want him to forgive me so everything can go back to normal. But he's being an ass--" "Sir, all due respect." Kevin interrupted him intentionally, though he still cringed at himself afterward. "He'll forgive you when he's ready to. If you keep trying to force him to do it, you're only going to make it worse." Avi let out a sigh, moving his elbows underneath himself so he could lift up enough to see Kevin beside him. "But how long will that take?" "I don't know. It just depends on him." "But it was an accident, for Christ's sake." "Please don't use that phrase around me... Sir, he's upset. You can't fix how he interprets the situation. Regardless if it was an accident or not, you hurt the one thing Scott has dedicated his life to protect. Whether you think it's a big deal or not, it's not your call this time." Avi frowned, turning away from him. "That's irritating." Kirstie walked past them to go to the kitchen, Grace in her arms mumbling nonsense to her mother. Kirstie grinned at the child. "That's right, Gracie." Avi grinned at them as they went by, his mood heightened immediately. Kevin finished up what he was doing, and then stood. "I'm going to go see if Kirstie needs any help. Would you do me a favor and find Todrick? He's probably with Travis." Avi nodded, standing from the couch just as Kevin walked away. He quietly walked down the hall, stopping in front of Jake and Alex's old bedroom. Just as he was about to knock, he heard Todrick speak a little louder. "I'm just being cautious, Travis. I'm not accusing you of anything." Avi tilted his head a little. That didn't sound good at all. What could they possibly be--?
"I just find it rude of you to say that to me as if you don't trust me."
