Chapter 197
It took three people to help Scott get up the stairs. Not that he was too heavy or anything, but he was easily distracted. Avi was worried that Kirstie's Heat was going to kick in early, so he encouraged everyone to get packed up and hopefully leave the next morning. With that happening, everyone seemed to be busy.
Kirstie was keeping herself hydrated while simultaneously taking care of Grace, Avi and Alex were making arrangements with a hotel, Todrick was on the phone with Travis, Scott was upstairs being taken care of by Mitch and Kevin, and Jake was down the hall packing both he and his Omega's bags for the trip. After hanging up with Travis, Todrick realized that in the midst of all the chaos, no one had taken care of dinner. He sighed loudly, and called Travis right back. "Hey. Me, again. Would you like to come to dinner with us tonight?" Kevin appeared in front of him a few seconds later, and he stood to patiently wait until Todrick was off the phone. Todrick said a few more words to Travis, deciding that he should just come over and then leave with the group, before hanging up. He gave Kevin the best smile that he could possibly muster. "Yes, my love?" "I was just about to ask if you'd started dinner, but I see now we've made other plans. Should I tell Avi that we're eating out?" "Yeah. And tell him Travis is coming too." Todrick paused, and then tilted his head a little. "Was I supposed to make dinner? Was it my turn, or something?" "No, I just.. I don't know. You enjoy cooking, so I figured if anyone had done it, it would have been you." "Oh... Now I feel bad for slacking on responsibilities." Todrick pouted, and then leaned forward to rest his head against the wood of the tabletop. "I need some tea." Kevin smiled at him, and walked over, just to lean down and kiss the back of Todrick's neck. "I'll get some for you. Don't worry about it. It wasn't your responsibility in the first place." "Thank you. Chai?" He asked hopefully. "Anything you want." Todrick grinned, and sat up in his seat to look up and meet Kevin's eyes. "Thank you." Kevin stared down at him, briefly wondering... Was now the right time? He cleared his throat, but chickened out in an instant. "I love you, Todrick." "I love you too." He responded, without even a hint of hesitation. Kevin stood there for a second too long, the ring in his pocket practically burning his skin. And then he nodded and hurried into the kitchen to make the tea. Avi walked out of Alex and Jake's room, but leaned his head back into the room for a moment to speak to Alex. "Yes, I said that was fine. How many times do I need to repeat myself?" When he turned to walk again, he met Todrick's eyes, and instantly felt regret. Avi turned and leaned back into the room. "I mean... Yes. That will be just fine. I didn't mean to snap at you, Alexander." Satisfied with himself, Avi turned to leave the hallway, and sat down at the table beside Todrick. Todrick smiled at him. "Thank you." Avi just nodded. "Yeah... I'm working on it." "Oh, while you're here... Um.. If it's alright with you, I made plans to go eat dinner with Travis... I mean, not just me. I mean all of us."
