Chapter 175
After Avi ran inside to grab a football, the pack gathered outside in their backyard. While he did this, Kirstie went into the house to be with Grace for a little while, since Esther had dropped Grace back off when they'd returned home from work, before Avi came to get Kirstie again. Todrick and Kevin were luckily asked to be the referees, as neither Beta was very excited about this idea. Kevin suggested that Scott and Avi be the captains, so they'd be on different teams, and then he left them to figure it out from there. Avi glanced at the others, and then turned to Scott. "So... I'll take Jake, and you take Alexander. That should keep us relatively even." Scott nodded, and waved Alex over just as Jake began to walk over to Avi's side of the yard. Avi smirked a little. "I'll go first." He turned back to the others, and pointed at Mitch. "You're with me, Tiny." Scott knew it wasn't going to take long before Avi pissed him off, he just hadn't anticipated that it would happen before the game even started. "Avi, come on." "Your turn." "No. That's not fair." "How isn't it fair? Alexander and Jake are against each other. How is this any different?" Scott took a deep breath, and turned back to his team, which Kirstie had happily walked over to. "I didn't mean to seem ungrateful for you, Kit. I just realized how rude that was of me to do." "No, I understand. You and Mitchie are inseparable." Scott glanced back at Avi for a second, and then turned back. "Well... I think we should quickly ask Kevin to pray over me, before Avi tries to break my spine." ***********
Scott was not cheating. No matter what any of them say, he was not cheating. He was just... Occasionally throwing a short Alpha over his shoulder to keep him out of the game. To be fair, this also took Scott out of the game, which kind of cancels out if you think about it. Thus, Todrick turned a blind eye toward it. Mitch had only gotten the ball a few times, one of which consisting of Scott grabbing him around the waist. Scott didn't pull his flag though, because he wanted Mitch to be able to play, but he pulled Mitch's back into the front of his body, forcing Mitch to throw the ball to Avi. Kirstie had immediately pulled Avi's flag, but she giggled and apologized. Scott was still off to the side, trying to distract Mitch by kissing the back of his neck as Mitch struggled to get away. Mitch turned to one of the referees. "Kevin, help!" Kevin glanced over at Todrick. "Is that a foul...?" "I assume so. I feel like if real football players tried to hit on each other like that during a game, they'd be fouled as well." Scott let him go, and Mitch giggled as he ran away. The game ended, when Avi accidently let his Alpha instincts take over, and as Scott approached their makeshift touchdown line, Avi took him to the ground. The others gasped and ran over, Avi apologizing loudly, but Scott just laughed. Scott shoved Avi away from him, and tossed the ball to Alex. Scott then rolled over and pinned Avi down, before shouting at Alex with a smile on his face. "Run for your life, Xander!" Alex glanced at the others quickly, before he laughed and then ran across the touchdown line.
