Chapter 82
Kevin was (of course) the first to speak. He turned to Avi. "I won't speak for everyone, but... Todrick and I seem to be having a bit of a disagreement... We'll work it out. Thank you for your concern though, Alpha." Todrick wasn't looking at him though. Rather he was glaring at Mitch. Mitch finally noticed, and glared right back. "Can I help you?" "Actually, yes. I need you to calm down, and take a small step back. Don't ever speak to Alex that way again, do you understand me?" Mitch leaned forward a little. "Don't tell me what to do." Avi leaned toward him too, growling low in his throat. "Mitchell." Mitch furrowed his eyebrows and pouted, leaning back in his seat. Avi held a hand out toward Todrick. "Please, continue." Todrick's eyes had never left Mitch. "Don't you dare call him that name when you know, firsthand, the pain in it's connotation. He was only trying to apologize." Mitch opened his mouth to speak, but Scott tightened his hand again, squeezing Mitch's neck to forewarn him. Avi briefly glanced at Mitch, and then looked around the table again. "Seems like another Alexander and Mitchell jealousy war again. I simply do not have the time. Tomorrow we have a busy day. So we need to get this out of the way so I can tell all of you guys about it. If you're mad at someone, speak now." Mitch was, not surprisingly, the first to speak. "Well Alex keeps taking Alpha's attention away from me." Alex frowned. "Mitchie, I didn't mean to. Todrick asked me to grab him to get help in the kitchen." "Yeah okay. Whatever you say, Alexis." Jake actually stood from his seat and pointed toward Mitch. "Stop that! You know exactly what you're doing to him!" Mitch stood too. "Don't yell at me!" Scott finally had enough, and also wanted to get to Mitch before Avi snapped and got there first. He stood and grabbed Mitch's upper arm, pulling him away from the table. Mitch whimpered, but let Scott drag him into the kitchen without a word. Jake sat down again, putting a hand on Alex's back. "Honey, are you okay? You know he didn't mean to." Alex was staring at his lap, wringing his hands together painfully. "Yes he did." Kevin set a hand on Todrick's arm. "Can we speak privately?"
Todrick nodded once, and stood from the table, Kevin following him closely. Avi sat down slowly. "Strangest meal I've ever had in this house." **********
