Chapter 93
Scott was grabbing a few snacks off the shelves when he felt Mitch's vice grip around his bicep. He turned to him with furrowed eyebrows, and set everything down when he saw Mitch's eyes squeezed shut. "Are you okay, baby?" Mitch nodded. "The smell is stronger out here.." He squeezed Scott's arm so hard, Scott was sure it would bruise. But he didn't say anything. He grabbed a few boxes, and handed them to Mitch. "Take these to the room and don't come back. It's better for you in there." Mitch nodded and turned to go, but froze when he heard someone knock on the cabin's front door. Scott's head whipped to the side to stare at the door. He started walking towards it. "Go, Mitchell." Mitch scurried down the hall and set the food down before looking directly at Avi. "Someone's here. At the front door." Avi hopped up and flew out the door to find Scott. Scott was reaching for the door handle when someone knocked again. He flinched away and Avi appeared next to him. "Ready? Let's do this." Avi opened the door, Scott looking over his shoulder. In front of them stood a Beta. He waved for a second, before glancing behind him, and then facing the two Alphas again. "Hiya! I'm Todrick.. Um. I need to talk to Mitchell Grassi's Alpha." Scott pushed past Avi for a second. "What do you need?" "Oh my. Well. You're quite large, aren't you? Alpha Travis has taken control of this situation mostly, but he requests the two of you for a brief meeting." Todrick explained to him. Avi peered over Scott's shoulder. "A meeting? During a lockdown?" "It's an emergency, Sir. I was told I walk fast." Scott turned to Avi. "Get Mitch. Tell him to put on some pants or something." Avi nodded and disappeared down the hall. Scott glanced at Todrick again. "Do you belong to Travis' pack?" "Yes, Sir. I do. Um. It's not really my business.. And you look great. But are you going to put on some clothes..?" He replied and then questioned with a large smile. Scott kept nervously glancing around behind Todrick, in case of trouble. "Yeah. You're right. Hang on." He found some of Avi's sweats draped over the couch, and decided that would be fine. Mitch came running out of the hallway in some jeans and one of Scott's shirts. "Alpha? Is everything okay?" Scott smiled down at him. "We have to go somewhere, alright?" Mitch nodded. "Yes, Sir." Todrick eyed him for a moment with a small smile. "Aren't you just the cutest thing I've ever seen?! I wish we had Omegas like you in our pack. Instead I have giants like Alex. Oh well. Not the point. Come along." He motioned for them to follow as he headed towards the Media Center. Scott was so paranoid about watching for things around them as they walked, he barely noticed Mitch's grip tightening on his upper arm. Scott looked at him for a second. "You okay?" "The smell is strong out here too." Mitch mumbled. Todrick turned to look at him for a moment, before continuing to walk to the Media Center. "You really are the Omega he was looking for.. Extraordinary." Scott picked up his pace to walk beside the shorter Beta. "What do you mean?" Todrick smiled at him. "Nothing. I shouldn't have said anything. Your Beta is cool." "Kevin? Yeah. He's fantastic, actually. I hope this doesn't come across as rude.. But are all Betas so happy and chipper all the time?" Scott asked, holding Mitch's hand tightly. Todrick shrugged. "I guess with all the knowledge they pack into Betas heads, we just don't have enough brain capacity to worry about that much. Spend all our time learning, and there's no time to be negative."
Scott raised an eyebrow. "I like that. That's pretty awesome." Todrick laughed a little and then pointed to the Media Center, about ten feet from where they were standing. "Here you are. I'm supposed to go home now, so I'll see you some other time." Scott nodded. "Thank you. You're alright walking on your own?" Todrick smiled and started walking away. "I got to your cabin okay, didn't I?" Mitch called after him, "It was nice to meet you, Toddy!" Todrick laughed but kept walking. "You too, Munchkin." Mitch smiled and let Scott lead him into the Media Center. Travis saw them immediately. "Mitchell. Perfect." Scott came up beside him to look at the maps on the table in front of him. "Why do you need my Omega, Trav?" "Can he smell Counsel Members right now?" Travis asked, somewhat ignoring Scott's question. Scott turned to Mitch, who breathed in and then nodded. Travis smiled at Mitch. "Where are they?" Mitch closed his eyes and took another deep breath. "Just past the parking lot, I think." Travis sighed and pointed at something on his map. "That's what I thought. That's way too close for comfort. We might have to evacuate." "Or we could send away the Betas and Omegas, and then the Alphas could kick a little ass." Alex piped up beside him. Scott squinted at him for a second. "And risk the safety of our Omegas? Not a chance." Travis nodded, keeping his eyes on the map. "He has a point. And Alexander, what did I tell you about foul language?" Alex shrunk under the harsh statement. "I'm sorry, Sir." "What did I tell you about it?" Travis replied lowly. "You told me that no princess of yours will be cursing like a sailor. And I'm much too beautiful to be using words so ugly." Alex recited. Travis grabbed Alex's hand and kissed it. "That's right, doll. No more cursing, okay?" "Yes, Alpha." Travis sighed and looked back at Scott. "Sorry about that." "No problem at all." Scott said with a smile. Mitch suddenly tucked himself into Scott's side, breathing in his scent. Scott kissed his forehead. "Still bothering you?" "I think they're getting closer. But Sirs? Alphas? How would we escape if they're by our cars?" Travis looked at Scott, who just stared back at him. Travis shrugged first. "I guess we'd start walking. Or maybe we'd hide." Alex frowned. "I thought that's what we were doing at this camp..?" Travis searched the map with his eyes, frantically waiting for something to pop out at him. Scott suddenly got worried. "If they're already close.. Maybe we just need to pack up and go. Figure the rest out later. Maybe we could ask a couple of Betas." Travis frowned at the large piece of paper in front of him. "But how long could we walk around carrying all of our things?" Alex pointed at a trail that circled around the camp. "Or.. Pack up. Leave the stuff. Get them off our trail. Grab it all, and then head to our cars." Scott thought about it for a second. "But even then. If we got in our cars, where would we go?" Mitch suddenly poked his head out from under Scott's chin. "What happened to that friend of yours that was keeping The Counsel out of here?" Travis sighed. "That's just it. I have no idea."
