Chapter 30 Thoughts
Julia let out a deep sigh as she turned on the faucet in the bathroom... she splashed some water on her face and closed it, her eyes trailing to her reflection in the mirror. She had deep frowns on her face, like someone had gotten on her nerves. "What is wrong with me?" She muttered under her breath and immediately fixed her face. It was no wonder that he asked her if she was mad. She looked the part. Julia swallowed and ran her hand through her hair, tugging on it a bit. Was she truly mad? The past week had gone by slowly than she had imagined. She didn't want to admit it. But each moment of the day, she couldn't help but wonder what he was doing and when he was going to show up. Anytime she heard the doorbell ring, her mind immediately told her it was him. he finally showed up, but she couldn't help but be disappointed when someone else walked through the door. She felt like a fool when she kept expecting him to show up, and he didn't. At a point, she felt like he was avoiding her, but she couldn't think of a reason why he would. she let out a shaky breath and closed her eyes, giving her head a shake to remind herself about her circumcstances. she had no right to he mad at him, she reminded herself. He could decide not to show up after today if she wanted, and she had no right to ask why he didn't. Was this how it was going to be after they got married? It was simply just a week, and she was feeling this way. What if he didn't show up for a year? How would she react then? "It's better if he doesn't show up, I just have to wait for the year to be up then," She muttered under her breath...
Julia left the room a minute later. Her hand was fisted as she walked down the stairs. She was expecting to see him still seated and waiting for her in the living room, but that was only an expectation because Damon wasn't there when she walked into the living room. Only Gladys was seated there, waiting for her to come back down. Did he leave already? She turned towards the front door and sighed deeply. Why did he come then if he was going to leave so soon? She walked to where Gladys was and took a seat on the couch opposite Gladys. "Mr Carson left not too long ago," she said, her eyes on Julia as she studied her reaction. She could tell that Julia was trying to act like she didn't care if he stayed or left, but she saw through Julia and noticed the way her hand was fisted beside her. Was she mad or sad that he left? Gladys couldn't decipher that.
