Chapter 5 Helper

They finally arrived at his apartment, and as Damon was about to drive into his private parking lot, Julia's heart dropped... where was he taking her? "Stop!" She said in a raised voice, and Damon immediately pressed on his brakes... "Where are you taking me to... I should leave now," She said and was about to reach the back of the car to get her bag... But before she could Damon held her arm, stopping her, and Julia immediately pushed his hand away. "I'm sorry... I just think you need to see a doctor... you can leave after seeing one, " he said, and Julia looked from him and then at the building that looked nothing like a hospital... "But this isn't a hospital," She responded, and he nodded... "Yes, I know that. Instead of going to one, I asked a doctor to come over to my place to examine you...I trust you will be more comfortable.... it wouldn't be good if the people chasing you found you" Julia started to think... it was true she had nowhere to go, and Charlie's men were chasing her, but how could she trust someone she didn't know... he didn't look like a bad person, but she was still afraid... she started to fiddle with her fingers, her heart racing... "I assure you that my place is safe," Damon added, not taking any chances of letting her go... First, he had to make sure she didn't have any sort of internal injury or bleeding, then if she wanted to leave, she could leave... "Okay," Juliet finally agreed in a low voice, taking her chances too and hoping he wasn't a bad person... he started to car and drove into his private parking lot... He came out of the car, and Julia came out of the car also... She walked behind him, her head hung a bit low, and her hand gripping her bag, the only thing she had left... Damon's mind was on the woman behind if he pressed the button of his private elevator and walked in... He was expecting her to follow him in, but he saw her hesitating, her eyes filled with fear... "Come on," he said, urging her... He wanted what happened to her... Julia swallowed as she walked into the elevator... it wasn't like any of the elevators she had entered, and even though she came from a small town, she knew this was a High-end place... Damon could feel her gaze on him as they rode the elevator up to his Penthouse... silence reigned between the both of them and was broken, but the "Ding!" Sound of the elevator... the door opened, and he was the first one to step out... He turned to look at her as she stepped out too... Julia was more than anxious as they walked to the front door of his apartment... "Welcome, sir." A man who was waiting by the door said, and Julia raised her eyes to look at the man who was staring at her curiously... "Thank you, Chris," He said to the man... and walked into his apartment, Julia trailing behind him... Julia's jaw almost dropped when she walked into the most luxurious apartment she had ever seen in her entire life. It felt like she was walking right into another world... who exactly was this man for him to own such a place? "Mr Carson," a man who was seated on the couch said and stood up as soon as he saw Alex approaching with a lady behind him... "Marc," Damon said and shook the man's outstretched hand.... He turned to look at Julia, who was standing behind him, her eyes scanning the whole place... "There was kind of a mishap earlier today, and I almost ran her over. Can you please examine her and make sure she is fine? I don't want to take any chances, " Damon said to Marc, who immediately understood the situation without Damon having to explain any further... he could tell that Damon couldn't risk taking her to the hospital and people finding out about the "Mishap" His eyes travelled back to the lady who had a mixed expression of surprise, confusion and anxiousness on her face... she looked lost, and her knuckles had turned white because of how tight she was gripping the bag in her hand... "If she could just sit over there, so I can examine her," Marc said, and damn turned to look at anxious Julia... he gestured for her to take a seat, and Julia did as he said, still wondering how she ended up in such a situation... nothing that rang a cause for alarm had happened, but she was still anxious as she took a seat and Marc started examining her...He asked her a few questions, checked her eyes, and he stood there watching and waiting till he was done... "She seems fine, except for being strained out. She seems okay, but I will still advise that she comes over to the hospital for a more thorough check-up... she needs a lot of rest, too, and he probably has been through a great deal of stress..." Marc said to Damon in a low voice when he was done, and he nodded, feeling relieved that she was okay... Julia stood up after Marc left and was ready to be on her way... "Let me drop you to wherever you were headed," Damon said to Julia, and she immediately declined... "That will not be necessary... " She said and wanted to leave quickly before it got dark outside... but Damon stopped her... "What about the people chasing you? Will you be okay?" Damon asked, even though he wanted her to leave... he had no idea why he had stopped her, but his body had reacted before his mind... If she could just ask for his help then he could make the people chasing her disappear for good... But he didn't want to forward because he had no idea what her full story was... Julia didn't know what to say... She had nowhere to go and the last hour she had spent there was much better than the last three months of her life... at first, she had been anxious, but as time passed, she became more relaxed and didn't have to worry about Charlie finding her because she knew she was safe there... Her eyes watered up, and she looked away when Damon noticed it... "What happened to you?" He asked, his curiosity getting the better of him...
