Chapter 13 Disbelief

Damon was silent the entire Julia spoke... he didn't try he listened even though he had a question he had the entire time... "There wasn't much I could do against them... my father... he didn't stop them... I knew the police wouldn't be of help..." Julia said in a low voice as she fiddled with her fingers nervously... the memory of the faithful day Charlie's men had come to take her replayed once again in her end... it was one of the worst days of her life... she still remembered her father standing idle, too scared to speak or even trying to stop them as she stared at him... she was too stunned to even ask him to help her because she knew he wouldn't... he was selfish and always thought about himself... he had always been... "I tried to escape, but I couldn't... it was really hard to... He had tried many men around, and I couldn't get far without them finding me..." She continued, and Damon became curious about who 'He' was... was he the boss or something... he would have to find out and deal with that problem later... first, he wanted to hear everything she had to say... what he was most curious about was how she managed to escape... he could already feel his blood boiling when she spoke about her father... he knew she didn't want to really speak about him, he could tell by the hesitation in her voice when she mentioned him... But he couldn't help but be angry at the man he had never met... How could he create such a mess and not even try to save his daughter... didn't he have a single shred of guilt... how could he just stand idly by and do nothing... What about her mother? Didn't her mother try to stop them... She didn't mention a mother. Maybe her mother wasn't in the picture... Damon almost asked but decided not to. He didn't want to derail her story and make her even more nervous than she already was... The more he listened, the more his curiosity became piqued..... "I finally got a chance.... most of his men were away, so me and Lia..." Julia continued but froze when she realised she mentioned Lia, who had betrayed her and put her in this mess in the first place... "I was able to get away, thankfully... we left the city so he wouldn't be able to find us anymore... I thought we were finally going to be free from him.... but she..." Julia trailed off and drew in a sharp breath...
