"So..." Lily started, hoping to break the awkward silence as she and Asher walked back to the venue, and he turned to her with an arched brow. "Well, I never got the chance to thank you for saving my life and my baby's life." Her hand found her bump, and she rubbed it gently. Asher's eyes instantly went to the baby bump, and he swallowed. He wanted to tell her it was nothing.... He only saved the life of his lover, and a baby that was most likely his, instead his lips tugged in a small smile. "It was nothing."
