Chapter 8 Frightening

"What the H*ll do you mean you couldn't find her! Where else would she have run to! she has nowhere else to go and no one to turn to for help!" Charlie's voice thundered through the dining room as Lia flinched once again... A bead of sweat broke out on her forehead as she gripped her dress because of the shivers of fear that were coursing through her entire body, the fear was missed with regret and she could taste the fear in her mouth as she sat down... the whole room was beyond tensed up as her heart pounded in her chest.. She wasn't the only one who seemed to be afraid... she slowly turned her head to glance at the man, and she could see how anxious he looked... Where exactly was Julia... She was in this freaking mess because of her! If only she hadn't run, then maybe Charlie wouldn't be so mad! They would be in this together, and she wouldn't have to be afraid all on her own... It made her angry to know that Julia could be anywhere, while she couldn't even take a bite out of the food in front of her even though she was starving... she swallowed, and her stomach started to hurt because of how hungry she was, but she couldn't move... she didn't want Charlie to notice her... He being in a terrible mood was enough to make her feel like she was about to throw up... she wished she could just disappear out of the room to where Julia was, so she could bring her back with her, and then they could face Charlie's wrath together because she was the one to blame! she was the cause of his anger... Lia swallowed when Charlie slowly got up from where he was sitting... she slowly raised her head to look at him and saw him walking over to where the man was standing... She could see the raw look of fear in the man's eyes as he kept his head hung low, but every step Charlie took was enough to leave everyone in the room rattled... "I gave you a single job to do Brian... that is your name, right?" Charlie said as he drew closer to the man who was about to take a step back... "Ye... yes... sir..." The man stuttered, his voice trembling in fear as he spoke... "Oh... I have such a good memory... My mom would always praise me for that as a child, but I didn't like it... it makes me furious because I keep thinking about what makes him furious... do you get what I'm saying? " Charlie said, a slight smile on his face as he took another step closer to the man... Lia swallowed as she watched... her entire body felt agitated, and what happened next was so fast that she needed a few seconds to process it before reacting... Charlie picked up the bottle of red wine that was on the table, and a loud sound echoed through the dining room, causing Lia's eyes to completely grow wide in horror as she watched as blood started to slip out of the man's forehead... Charlie held the broken bottle in his hand and stared in silence as the man slowly fell to his knees and started to bleed out from his head... Lia felt her eyes blurred with tears as she bit her lips so the sound of her cry wouldn't be heard in the room... The man on the ground started to groan in pain, and this seemed to piss Charlie off even more... "Shut the f*ck up!" He yelled out in rage and started to stomp on the man repeatedly with his feet, and Lia felt like passing out... "You f*cking piece of sh*t! You don't deserve to... leave!" Charlie kept stomping on him, and the sound of the man yelling and groaning out in pain slowly started to die down while everyone in the room watched in silence... no one could step forward to stop him because they knew they would be next... they could only just watch, and when Charlie was done, a single sound couldn't be heard from the man... Was he dead? Lia thought and felt her stomach churn even more... she would have thrown up, but there was nothing in her stomach to throw up...
