Chapter 6 Honeymoon?

Dorr … Dorr … "Good job, Miracle. You did great," Miracle smiled with satisfaction when her shot didn't miss the board. Miracle had always been taught by her father to take care of herself. Every day, Miracle practiced shooting and using knives. Having lived in Rome for so long, Miracle had to be able to protect herself. Although many bodyguards guarded him, Miracle was always vigilant for her good. Miracle turned around; she was about to grab a drink from the table. However, Miracle's steps stopped when she saw a tall man looking at her intently. "Mateo? Are you home? Since when have you been here?" Miracle was surprised to see Mateo in front of her. It was unusual for the man to come home so early. Almost every day, Mateo came home late at night. "Yes, I'm home early today," Mateo replied coldly with a flat face. Then, he stepped closer to Miracle and continued, "Who taught you to use a gun? Aren't women always afraid to handle that thing?" "I live alone in Rome and away from my family. Although my father asked his people to take care of me, I can at least take care of myself," Miracle replied nonchalantly. Mateo smiled mysteriously. He moved closer to Miracle. Miracle instantly fell silent as Mateo got so close to him. Even now, Mateo brought his lips close to Miracle's ear. "Your aim is still off," he whispered. Suddenly, Mateo grabbed the gun that was in Miracle's hand. Then he pointed it at the board. The gunshot sounded so loud. Miracle was surprised to see Mateo's shot on target. Miracle snorted in displeasure. "Do you want to belittle me and think you're so much better than me?" Mateo shrugged his shoulders indifferently. "Well, you can see for yourself and judge without me having to answer your questions." 'How annoying is that guy,' Miracle grumbled to herself. 'Just see if I'm better than him; I'll shoot him in the head,' she added silently, still with an annoyed look at Mateo. Mateo smiled faintly. He looked at Miracle, who was staring annoyed at him. To be precise, he didn't care about that. He immediately turned around and was about to leave Miracle. However, Mateo's steps were halted when he saw a waiter who walked up to him. "Mr. Mateo... Mrs. Miracle..." called the servant, walking quickly towards Mateo and Miracle. "What is it?" asked Mateo coldly at the servant standing before him. "Sir, Mrs. Orina is here," the waiter replied informingly. "Mom Orina came?" Miracle asked, confirming. "Yes, ma'am," the servant replied. "Well, Mateo and I will see her soon," Miracle replied. The servant bowed her head, then excused herself from Mateo and Miracle's presence. "Don't you want to change your clothes?" asked Mateo coldly. Miracle chuckled at Mateo's question. "What's wrong with my clothes?" she replied irritably. Yes, Miracle was wearing shorts and a very sexy tube top. This outfit certainly made her look beautiful. It was not that she disliked wearing dresses, but when practicing shooting, there was no way she could wear a dress. Mateo shrugged his shoulders indifferently. "I'm just worried that my mom will be surprised to see you." "I like Miracle the way she carries herself." The figure of a middle-aged woman, still very beautiful, stepped gracefully toward Miracle and Mateo. "Mom Orina?" greeted Miracle upon seeing Orina, her mother-in-law standing before her. "Hi, Honey. How are you?" Orina immediately gave Miracle a warm hug. "I'm good, Mom," Miracle replied. "How about you, Mom?" "I'm good too, honey," Orina replied as she glanced at the gun on the table. "Are you two practicing?" Miracle smiled stiffly. "Yes, Mom. Mateo came home early today." "Great, I didn't expect you to be so brave, Miracle," said Orina, who smiled proudly at Miracle. "Usually, women would be afraid of a gun. But you're brave." Miracle kept smiling at her mother-in-law. However, in truth, she didn't like getting compliments. "Mateo, don't you want to take Miracle on a honeymoon? Or if you're busy, you can take your weekend. You can spend time together and get to know each other better," Orina suggested. "Weekend I always have meetings with my business partners. I have a lot of work that I can't leave," Mateo said coldly and with a flat face. Yes, this time, he had to hold back his emotions patiently. If yesterday it was his father who asked about the honeymoon and this time it was his mother who asked. Although, in truth, he was tired of hearing the same question from both of his parents. Miracle was a little taken aback by her mother-in-law's question. She didn't know what to say when it came to children. The thought of having children with Mateo had never even crossed her mind. Miracle averted her gaze, momentarily staring at Mateo's cold face. She was still waiting for Mateo to answer her mother-in-law's question. "Miracle and I are still newly married. There are many things we must understand about each other. I hope you understand," Mateo emphasized. There was a look of laziness on his face as he answered Orina's question. Miracle just smiled. Luckily, Mateo had already answered the question. Miracle expected to avoid getting questions about children from her in-laws. She had only been married to Mateo for a few days. Even if she had been married to Mateo for a long time, she wouldn't have been able to have children with Mateo. God, that would never happen. Miracle immediately dismissed her thoughts when thinking about children. Orina sighed softly. "That's okay, Mommy goes in first. You guys continue practicing." Miracle nodded. "We'll be in soon too, Mom." Orina smiled as she kissed Miracle's cheek. Then, she walked away from Mateo and Miracle. "Mateo," called Miracle as she looked at the man. "What's wrong?" Mateo asked coldly. "You said I should pretend to your parents to be a wife. But why did you refuse your mother's request for us to go on our honeymoon?" Miracle asked back with a severe look. Mateo smiled sarcastically. He came closer and pulled Miracle's chin with his index finger. "Do you want a honeymoon with me? Like any other newly married couple? Is that what you expected? Miracle's face changed when he heard Mateo's words. "My wish? Of course not! I don't want it at all! I'm just asking why you refused. Aren't you afraid of your mom getting suspicious?" Mateo touched Miracle's ear as he whispered sarcastically, "Are you afraid of my mom getting suspicious, or do you really want it? Ah, don't you want to get in touch with me? Haven't you ever gotten one, so you have to ask like this?" Miracle immediately pushed Mateo's chest hard. Her gaze turned to glare at the man. "Don't you dare touch me, Mateo, I'll kill you! Talking to you always pisses me off. I'll get old if you keep talking to me. Every day I get angry." Miracle walked away from Mateo, who still did not budge from his spot, without another word. It seemed she was tired of constantly arguing with that annoying man. Mateo put his hands in his pants pockets. His gaze continued to stare at Miracle's back, which began to disappear from his sight. The grin on his face appeared to remember Miracle's annoyance.
