Chapter 2 Agreement

"Mateo, what is this agreement?" asked Miracle as she stared puzzled at the file in her hand. Mateo was silent momentarily, looking at the file in Miracle's hand. A cold look on his face and a sharp look in his eyes stared at Miracle. "Open it, read the document in your hand, and study its contents." Miracle's brow furrowed. She seemed increasingly clueless as to what Mateo was referring to. Slowly, Miracle began to rise to her feet. She was still firmly holding the treaty file. Miracle's gaze drifted to Mateo's dark brown irises. "Can you explain what this means?" "I'll explain if you read it," Mateo said firmly. The eyes that radiated his arrogant nature stared at Miracle coldly. Miracle was silent. She still did not understand. However, there was no way she could push Mateo back to explain it. Slowly, Miracle began to open the file. Suddenly, Miracle's face changed as she read the first sheet of the agreement. Her blue irises sharpened. There was anger and confusion there. First Party: Mateo De Luca Second Party: Miracle Geovan 1.The first party will support the second party. The first party will fulfill all the needs of the second party. 2.In front of the public and family, the first and second parties are obliged to show intimacy and must look happy. 3.The second party is prohibited from going against the first party's words, and the second party must obey every word of the first party. 4.The first party and the second party will sleep separately. However, in the future, the second party must be ready if the first party asks the second party to conceive. Miracle closed the file. Her sharp eyes flicked to Mateo, who stood before her. "Can you explain what this agreement is, Mateo!" she demanded that Mateo explain it to her. "The one in your hand is our marriage contract. From the beginning, I was forced to marry your twin sister because of this damn arranged marriage. I was already glad your twin sister ran away, but you ushered yourself into her place. Now, you have no choice but to do as I say." Mateo's words took Miracle by surprise. She could hardly believe what the man had said. An agreement? Miracle had never even imagined it. "Y-You made this agreement?" Miracle firmly gripped the agreement in her hand. The look on her face seemed to hold back her anger. Her blue irises sharpened on Mateo. "You said it yourself, didn't you? You took your twin sister's place because you didn't want to embarrass your family. You and I never wanted this marriage. We're both trapped in a marriage we never wanted. The agreement I made, of course, benefits us. I won't interfere with your life. And you, don't interfere with mine. Everything written in the agreement is very fair." Mateo said firmly. His eyes were sharp and arrogant, staring intently at Miracle. "You're crazy! Which one did you say was fair? Explain to me which point you said was fair! You're asking me to take your word for it and saying I should be ready to be pregnant with your child? You've lost your mind! We'd better get a divorce! Tell our parents there's no compatibility between us!" Miracle's voice exclaimed vehemently, opposing the agreement proposed by Mateo. It wasn't that she wanted this man in front of her. But points number three and four incriminated her. Mateo smiled sarcastically. Then, he pulled Miracle's chin and stared into the woman's blue eyes as he hissed, "Divorce? That's just your dream! You brought yourself to take the place of your runaway twin sister, so don't even dream of backing out. Hurry up and sign the agreement and don't argue with me!" Miracle brushed off Mateo's hand that touched her chin. Her eyes flashed with anger as she heard Mateo's words. "I'm not signing that damn agreement! And if you keep forcing me then you'll have to remove points number three and number four!" Mateo let out a rough breath. He was getting fed up with the stubborn woman in front of him. "I'm not going to erase whatever the agreement says! You have to do what I say because I'm your husband! And lastly, in the future, my family will demand that I provide offspring. Whether you like it or not, you must be prepared for the time when you must conceive," he emphasized. "You have a lot of money! If you need offspring, you just pay another woman to pregnant with your child! I don't want to!" exclaimed Miracle, glaring at the man before her. She did not accept the agreement Mateo had made. Conceive? Just imagine that Miracle didn't want it. Unexpectedly, Mateo suddenly pushed Miracle's body, slamming the woman against the wall. Miracle struggled; she punched Mateo in the chest to get away from him. But unfortunately, Miracle's strength was just like cotton to Mateo. Mateo pressed his body against Miracle's, locking down the woman's movements. "Let go of me, damn it!" Miracle kept trying to rebel. But the more she rebelled, the more Mateo pressed her body until it felt like Miracle really couldn't breathe. Mateo cupped Miracle's cheeks roughly. His dark brown irises sharpened as Miracle struggled even more. "Will you shut up?" he hissed warningly. "I'll never shut up if you don't let me go!" Miracle raised her face. There was a clear flash of anger in her blue irises. Mateo growled as Miracle continued to struggle. He pulled Miracle's chin and whispered sharply, "Hurry up and sign the agreement. Or you'll know the consequences if you don't. Whether you want to or not, I don't care. Because you have to do what I say." Miracle's tears fell down her cheeks again. She felt like running away from all this. However, there was nothing she could do about it. How could that man make such a deal? This was entirely unfair to her. "If you never wanted marriage, we'd better split up! You can get the woman you love! Marry her and so can I!" Miracle's reddened eyes stared at Mateo intently. Her voice was now a little softer than before. Miracle would instead choose to end this marriage. There was no way she was going to sign that agreement. Just imagining her home life after signing the contract was unthinkable to her. No, Miracle was not that stupid to live in misery. "Split up?" Mateo flashed a sardonic smile. He caressed Miracle's tears. Wiped them away and hissed sharply, "When you deliver yourself, there is no turning back. We will never be separated. If you wanted to escape, you should have done it before we got married." Mateo moved his body away from Miracle. He released his grip with a cold look on his face and a sharp look in his eyes. "Hurry up and sign the agreement!" he said again urgently. "I won't! I will never sign that damn agreement you made!" Miracle refused firmly. Her eyes were red due to the anger that had built up inside her. Mateo growled. He immediately cupped Miracle's cheek roughly again. This time, he did it so around that it made Miracle whimper in pain. "If you don't sign the agreement, you're a hypocrite! You deliberately became your twin sister's replacement because you wanted this marriage," she whispered sharply and piercingly. Miracle's face changed. The flash of anger slicing through her eyes could no longer be contained when she heard Mateo say, 'Hypocrite.' She was ignited by her emotions that were about to explode. Miracle immediately snatched the pen and signed the agreement without saying a word. "Take this! Don't you ever try to humiliate me!" Miracle threw the agreement in front of Mateo. Mateo carved a triumphant smile on his face and took the agreement as he said, "You have signed it. That means you are bound by what is written here." Mateo now stepped out of his bride's room. Miracle immediately fell to the floor when she heard Mateo's words. Her face looked so pale, and her eyes were glazed over. "What did I do? Why did I sign that agreement?" Miracle squeezed her hair tightly. She was cursing her foolishness. Tears began to fall down her cheeks.
