Chapter 55

The afternoon sun hung low in the sky, its rays shining brightly on the field. The lords and Elders of the Kingdom spread across the field in clusters, some of them chatting and some of them shooting their arrows into the sky, trying to catch as much prey as they could. Loud laughter and chatter rang in the air, filling the afternoon silence. A long table sat at the far edge of the grass, with various snacks and fruits on it for entertainment. A shout came from one of the Lords as he hit the bird he had been desperately trying to get for the past minutes. Aila smiled as one of the servants ran across the field to pick it up, bringing it back to the Lord.
