“Do you think this dress is okay? What if I step on it and fall? What if I accidentally spill oil over it? Don’t you think it’s too revealing?” Aila blurted out as she stared at herself—or Akila in the mirror. Nira had showered her with a pretty off-shoulder yellow dress that she claimed fitted her light skin. The gown flowed to her toes, elevating it with silver flats. A silver necklace rested on her neck, the pendant shining in its full glory, and a silver earring to match the entire look. She let her hair flow down, Akila’s curls bouncing on her back.
