“How long has she been doing that?” Ahsan asked quietly, his voice full with intrigue, as he stared at Aila from the balcony. Of all things, he had expected from the weak, scaredy cat of a bride that they brought to him. Her holding out this long enough with Darya wasn’t something he expected. He had lived with Darya his entire life and knew how cruel she could be. But yet, this cat, even with her shoulders trembling with effort and her muscles screaming beneath the weight of the buckets, was still breaking odds with Darya.
