Laina’s throat and eyes burned with guilt as she stared at the queen in front of her; her fingers curled up beside her with the utmost hatred for herself and for one more person. A tear slid down her cheek as the queen called her out, “You’re the tea-maid. You were shaking that day. Are you okay now?”
