Obviously my mind block was working perfectly because he didn't seem to hear that last thought. "Yeah, she pretty much out does anyone in the kitchen." He agreed, not noticing the ongoing battle that was suddenly happening inside of me. "When you're there next time, I'll get her to make her strawberry and chocolate cake." Turning briefly, he smiled. "You'll love it." Normally my attention would have been completely focused on the words chocolate, cake and strawberry, but I just couldn't shake the thoughts about him from my mind. Where had they come from? One minute I was thinking about a fruit bowl and the next the images had gone very off topic. Not even a single thought about Carmen was in my mind.
