Chapter 123

I wasn't sure if Nellie believed I was lost or she had just chosen not to question it, but either way I didn't really care. What I did care about was Carmen. For some reason I couldn't shift the sadness I felt when I thought about her alone in that room. It wasn't a bad place to be - that one room was nicer than my entire house - but it was still sad to think that a Luna was left with nothing but a couple of square feet of someone else's house. A house where she wasn't welcome and obviously wasn't happy in. Telling me Alpha Tom and Peter where friends in school, was that important? Did it mean something? I wasn't sure, but I had the feeling that Carmen wasn't a person who would say something just for the sake of it.
