Chapter 6 Killing Harrison Watson
"Harrison Watson, do you know your crimes?" Xaiden's voice rang like thunder in Harrison's head.
"You...! I am the Watson Family's patriarch. I promise, I will make sure you die miserably!" Harrison kneeled on the ground and yelled. Despite his best efforts, he was unable to rise. It felt like his legs weren't his anymore, and they were firmly planted on the earth.
"You won't have this chance! Do you recall five years ago? You plotted against the Sallens and destroyed my family. Today, I'm simply requesting some payment in advance. I will gradually make the Watson Family realize what misery is like." Xaiden remained there, staring at Harrison coldly.
"I'll kill you!" Harrison had grabbed for the revolver at his belt. He quickly pulled it out and pointed it toward Xaiden. However, a golden needle blasted out of Xaiden's hand and punctured his neck before he could squeeze the trigger.
Following the emergence of a little needle point on Harrison's swollen neck, blood steadily seeped out, eventually becoming a torrent of blood.
Everyone who had come to celebrate Harrison's 80th birthday then watched as his head crashed to the ground with a loud thud.
They stood there, stunned. The timid ones were so horrified that they passed out.
A guy wearing a death mask assassinated Harrison, the patriarch of Josenz's top family.
Ignoring everyone's eyes, Xaiden took out a black bag and placed Harrison's head inside. He then left Cloud Group, with no one attempting to stop him.
...
In Josenz Memorial Park, a person stood in front of a gravestone. Xaiden removed Harrison's head from the bag and laid it in front of his father's grave.
"Dad, Mom, here is Harrison's head. I murdered him. Rest certain that I will make everyone involved in the conspiracy to destroy the Sallen Family repent in front of you. I will also take back all of the Sallen Family's assets! Rest in peace." This said, Xaiden pulled out a bottle of wine, took a few swigs, and then dumped it in front of Benson's tomb. After that, he turned around and walked away.
...
The visitors had already left, leaving a mess in Cloud Group's lobby. A pitch-black casket lay in the center of the hall, with Harrison and Burle's bodies in front of it. One of the bodies was decapitated, while the other had a profoundly concave chest.
All of the Watson Family members kneeled in front of these two bodies. In front of the group was a stunning woman with a chilly demeanor. She was Harrison's daughter, Winnie Watson, and she was the brains behind all of the plots back then. Winnie glanced at her father's body, tears in her eyes, and cried, "Who did this?"
"I-I do not know. He wore a mask. No one recognized him." Winnie's mother cried while explaining.
"Did you call Orson?"
"I did. He will return soon!"
"Good, no one touches the scene until Orson arrives!" Winnie yelled in rage.
…
A half-hour later, four military trucks came to a halt before Cloud Group's gate. Over a hundred fully armed troops emerged from the vehicles, each with the initials 'SL' sewn with golden thread on their chests, signifying that they were all members of the Southvale Legion.
A middle-aged guy approached the lobby of Cloud Group wearing a military coat with two stars on his shoulders and a concerned look on his face. The guy was Orson Watson, the second son of Harrison and the right-hand man of the Fury War God of the Southvale Legion.
"Dad, I am sorry. I returned late!" Orson knelt on the ground and wailed loudly.
"Orson!" When Winnie saw Orson, she swiftly approached him and helped him up.
"Bring me all of the CCTV footage before and after the event. I want to inspect them myself!" Orson barked out his instructions.
"Of course." Winnie waved her hand, and someone instantly ran to get the videos.
Even after watching the footage and examining the victims' wounds, Orson discovered no evidence. Burle's internal organs were crushed by force, and Harrison's decapitation was so bizarre that Orson couldn't figure out how it happened. All he noticed on the footage was the masked killer's hand quivering slightly before the incident.
"What else did that person say?" Orson asked coldly.
"Do you remember five years ago? You schemed against the Sallen Family, ruining my family. Today, I'm just asking for some payback in advance. I will slowly let the Watson Family understand what despair feels like," Winnie repeated.
"Hmm? A surviving member of the Sallen family? Hasn't the Sallen Family been wiped out?" Orson questioned.
"No, there is still Xaiden. He was imprisoned."
"Go see if Xaiden has been released. I must now travel to Goldenia. The murderer is ruthless and crafty, therefore, I must conduct a comprehensive investigation.
After handing out instructions, Orson exited the building. The Watson Family's surviving members gathered Harrison and Burle's bodies, stored them in the hospital morgue, and resolved not to bury them until the culprit was apprehended.
...
Melody called Xaiden early the next morning, just after he finished his daily exercise.
"Xaiden, I've already contacted my classmate. She promised to assist in arranging a meeting with her chairman. Come over quickly." Melody said, "Once we get the contract, my grandmother will recognize you as her son-in-law."
"Okay, wait for me. I will come get you immediately!"
After the call, Xaiden rode his electric scooter to Melody's residence. He didn't drive the military vehicle today because he wanted to share the everyday life of a normal person with Melody.
Within five minutes, Xaiden had arrived at the entrance of Melody's neighborhood. Melody was wearing a black uniform today. Her pencil skirt fitted her shape and accentuated her curves. With her high heels, she exuded the air of a successful entrepreneur.
Melody approached Xaiden in her high heels and sat behind his electric scooter. "Xaiden!"
"Darling, you look stunning today. You will undoubtedly succeed since it's you who's handling this matter. It is up to you whether or not I can become the Torris Family's son-in-law."
Xaiden grinned. He had conversed with VitaNova Pharmaceuticals chairman Thane Everett yesterday. Even if it was an order valued at ten billion dollars, Thane would treat it with the highest regard as long as it was from Melody.
"Haha, I'll do my best to keep you from getting kicked out," Melody assured. "By the way, Xaiden, do you know what occurred in Josenz last night? The patriarch of Josenz's top family, the Watson Family, was assassinated at his 80th birthday celebration."
