Chapter 60 Bride Price Presentation

Ashina and her mother had to leave their not-so-pleasant conversation for later as they both had to be in the king's presence soon. Ashina was in a pretty messed-up condition. She was literally dragged to her new room by her maid, Jasmine, to get prepared. Ashina had been in Juan's room once, the night he invited her over so they could have dinner together. The size of the room amazed her just as much as it amazed her that night. It was as big as a small hall. She was thinking about asking for a separate bed so she could have her own space away from Juan's. His actions the previous night must have shown he was never going to touch her without her permission, but Ashina was not prepared to take any chances. She was never going to let him touch her, so she had to brace herself for a moment when he could get frustrated and try to forcefully have her way. Ashina had had her bath in his bathroom and dressed up there. To her relief, he wasn't around when she did. She could not deny that she loved the bathroom and she could get used to it. It had this bath, which was a small lake filled with warm water. She would've spent more time in it if she did not fear Juan was going to come in soon. Now she had gotten dressed, and with her hand in Juan's, they made their way to the throne room where the king waited. "I thought the night in the forest was the final phase of this wedding. What is this about?" Ashina whispered to Juan, not masking her displeasure. Juan giggled.
