Chapter 20 Patuk In Trouble

"Welcome Princess Ashina of Arthenis! The soon-to-be second Princess of Scyta!" The guard outside the room yelled as the doors opened. The council members were a tad startled by this, as it was at a moment when they least expected any interruption. At once, all six of them rose in respect. Ashina stepped into the room alone. Though she kept a straight face to not show it, she felt nervous, uncomfortable, and tense. Her efforts to get out of the gown and reduce her makeup were futile as Princess Leslie insisted she had to appear before the council looking "perfect". Her eyes scanned the room. She saw the six pairs of eyes screening her from her head to her toes. This made her heart race. A lot ran through her mind. Her nervousness caused her to sweat on her forehead, so she wondered if it had ruined her make-up. If that was the case, she probably looked like a clown. Trying to be casual, she looked at the faces of the council members. No one of them stared at her funny.
