Chapter 47 Meeting Morticia
Locked away in a cell in the deepest part of the Scytan dungeons was Morticia, who had now been branded as the worst criminal in Scyta for her attempted murder of princess Ashina. She now waited for her death. Her arms were spread out because chains were bound to her wrists and the opposite walls. She was on her knees, which had been severely injured by the stony, rough dungeon floor. Her once spotless skin was now covered in all sorts of injuries and scars from the beatings she received on the day of her capture. The warriors guarding her even beat her up from time to time without the permission of the higher-ups. She was still in her maid's uniform, which had now been heavily soiled by dirt and torn all over by the whips of the warriors. The tears were so bad, that the kirtle, which usually covered the whole body, now exposed her arms, thighs, and even cleavage. Her body was wet from her profuse sweating as it was way too hot several feet below the surface of the earth. Even with all the poor conditions, Morticia was sound asleep. This was her only escape from the torture she was enduring, and she did it as much as she could.
The dungeons were always so quiet, only the light footsteps of warriors patrolling could be heard sometimes. The tranquillity of the environment was now interrupted by the loud clinking of chains, keys, iron doors, and heavy footsteps. He was escorted into the dungeon with his hands behind him by two warriors to his left and right. It was Darco. He strained his eyes to see his way through the poorly lit environment. Now standing before Morticia's cell, he looked down at the kneeling criminal with his nose wrinkled in disgust. He looked over to the warriors standing before Morticia's cave and nodded at them, meaning that they were to leave him alone with her.
