Chapter 8 Ms Perfect Makes an Entrance
A condition?
Darius remembered the woman's wicked grin from earlier, when she had him cornered. His instinct was to refuse, but when she mentioned a sum of 1.5 million dollars, he hesitated.
That was a lot of money, an amount he couldn't possibly gather even if he borrowed from everyone he knew. Any further delay could result in permanent scarring on his daughter's face.
For the sake of his pride, he could refuse, but faced with his daughter's future, he couldn't.
"What do you want in exchange for the 1.5 million dollars?"
Darius asked, his eyes burning with determination as he stared at Ash.
Her conditions caught him off guard, even though he was ready to take advantage.
"It's simple. I want you to publicly admit that you ordered your wife to seduce my husband so I could catch them and divorce that sc*mbag. Besides that, I want you to be my man and use your medical skills to treat the dignitaries and wealthy people I know."
Darius chuckled coldly. This woman wanted to restore her reputation through divorce, covet his body, and exploit his skills for profit.
"You really have it all planned out, don't you?" He scoffed. "You're attempting to exploit me under the guise of righteousness. Sorry, I'm not a kept man."
Ash's face darkened with anger. Grabbing Darius by the collar, she spat, "No one has ever dared to refuse me in Wreka! Even at the peak of your company, you didn't qualify to turn me down.
"Consider yourself lucky that I'm letting you be my man because of your looks and build. Don't push your luck.
"Don't you want to lose your reputation? Worried about your precious pride and dignity? Have you thought about your disfigured daughter? You have the power to ruin her life without this money.
"Kid, being a kept man isn't shameful, especially if it's with me. It's a dream for many men in Wreka. You should feel honoured."
Word by word, her remark pierced Darius's heart.
He wanted the money and needed to quickly make the cream to treat his daughter's face, but becoming Ash's slave was not an option.
At this moment, he had recovered some strength. With a swift slap and push, he managed to break free from Ash's grasp.
"Ms. Hoffman, please respect yourself! Your husband's betrayal of you has nothing to do with me. Don't force your happiness upon my humiliation, or else don't blame me for being rude."
Ash laughed loudly. "You're being rude to me? How dare you be rude to me, a piece of tr*sh with nothing? I'm standing right here. If you've got the guts, try hitting me!
"Don't say I didn't warn you. I will have my father pursue you if you attempt to harm me, and I will not spare your daughter either."
Her domineering aura erupted, making Darius feel like a small boat tossed about in a storm.
Her condescending attitude and the deep disdain in her eyes fiercely stabbed at Darius's heart.
Being kind makes you a target; being gentle gets you trampled. Ever since his bankruptcy, everyone has stepped on him, trampling on his dignity.
He needed to get stronger and make sure no one dared look down on him again. For the first time, Darius felt an intense desire to become powerful.
"Ash, you're courting death!" He glared fiercely at Ash. His heart was filled with murderous intent, growing stronger by the moment.
Ash was enraged, and she lunged at him like a tank.
"A lowlife like you dare to shout at me? I'll strangle you right now! Let's see if you dare to fight back!"
She reached for his neck with her iron grip.
"He doesn't dare, but I do!"
A clear, commanding voice interrupted. A stunning woman in high heels walked in, her powerful presence immediately dispelling Ash's aura. Behind her, three bodyguards followed closely.
This woman was the most beautiful woman in Wreka, as well as the head of the city's most prestigious family, Alana Loder.
Even though Darius's company was once significant, Alana was beyond his reach. They had never even met.
Despite meeting countless beauties before, as his gaze travelled from her legs to her chest and face, he couldn't help but swallow.
This woman was too stunning, too beautiful, and too domineering.
The moment Ash saw her, all of her bravado vanished, and she stopped clenching on Darius. Despite this, she tried to maintain her composure.
"Ms. Loder, what a big mouth you have. What reason do you have to interfere in my affairs?"
Alana scoffed coldly and said, "Do I need a reason to act? Guards, teach her a lesson!"
One of the bodyguards immediately moved towards Ash. Despite her skills, she was no match for the trained killer. Their ability was far beyond her capability.
Smack! Smack!
Two slaps landed precisely on Ash's face, knocking her to the ground.
"Motherf*cker! You'll pay for this!" Ash shouted.
She scrambled to her feet, fleeing in disgrace.
The farce ended abruptly with Alana's arrival, leaving Darius in a daze.
Was this the might of Wreka's elite family? Just a word and a bodyguard could resolve the crisis he couldn't fight against.
"Hello, I'm Alana Loder. Thank you for saving me, and I apologise," she said.
Her voice was noble, cold, and indifferent as she addressed Darius and explained the reason for her being here.
Given her arrogance, Darius responded coldly, "I don't understand why you're thanking and apologising to me. If you don't explain yourself, I won't accept it."
