Chapter 6 The Tigress Takes Charge

"D ... Darling ... " Vere's whole body stiffened with fear when he heard that voice. His wife, Ash Hoffman, was the daughter of Marty Hoffman, a wealthy local tycoon. Ash was tall and burly, and as a professional wrestler, she could lift him effortlessly. Just as Darius had said, Ash was not only a domineering wife but also naturally jealous of any woman prettier than her. Caught red-handed in his infidelity, Vere knew he was in big trouble. The livestream audience cheered as Ash, a towering and stout woman, lifted him effortlessly with one hand. 'The wife's here! Teach that sc*mbag a lesson!' 'Go, wife! Crush those cheaters!' 'Haha, live-action drama! I need to record it quickly!' Realising the livestream was still on, Ash commanded Darius, "Are you still filming? Turn it off now!" Darius tossed the phone aside, coldly watching Vere dangle in the air. He said to Ash, "As you can see, your worthless husband was fooling around with my deceitful woman. Now, he's all yours. Do whatever you want with him." Vere was terrified and screamed, "You b*stard! You're framing me! You'll die a horrible death! "Darling, let me explain! It's not what you think! I didn't cheat! This is all Darius's setup!" Bam! Ash slammed Vere to the ground, causing him to writhe in pain. As he tried to get up, Ash walked over, grabbed him again, and roared angrily. "I knew it! That's why you've been sleeping with me less and less over the past year. You've been giving my share to that woman!" Holding Vere in one hand, she stormed towards Norma with a terrifying aura. "What are you doing? Stay away!" Terrified, Norma backed away, her face pale with fear. Smack! Ash grabbed her by the collar and lifted her, too. "You both like sneaking around, huh? Enjoy the thrill, do you? Now you have a chance to put on a show for me. If you can't last three minutes, I'll kill you both!" Norma was terrified beyond comprehension. She had no strength to resist the battle-ready Ash. Vere gritted his teeth and suddenly roared, "Ash, you're insane! "Do you realise how much this fuss will damage Hoffman Group's reputation? Put me down now!" Crash! Ash slammed them into each other! "To hell with you! Do you think I'll show you any respect?" Vere and Norma felt their insides churn, nearly vomiting from the impact. "D*mn it, I'll fight you to the end! I suspect you two are real cheaters and are setting us up!" Norma was equally desperate. She went all out and yelled, "That's right! You two must have planned this. Otherwise, how could you have shown up in my daughter's room at just the right moment?" Their baseless accusations infuriated Ash. She screamed, "You're looking for death!" Norma defiantly stared back at Ash, unafraid of death. "I'm just a lowly person, and death doesn't scare me. But you're a wealthy heiress; if word gets out that you're unfaithful ... " Ash hesitated. She feared ruining her reputation and bringing shame to her family more than anything else. Vere and Norma seized this moment to fight back. Just when the adulterous pair felt triumphant, Carrie weakly spoke up, "No ... Dad didn't cheat with her. "It was Mummy and that man ... They were fighting on the bed ... " Boom! Carrie's words reignited Ash's fury. She rushed to Carrie's bedside, pressing her chest and demanding, "Tell me, how did they fight?" "It hurts ... Lady, it hurts." Carrie's tears streamed down her face, and she whimpered in pain. "Speak!" Ash roared in anger. Darius rushed over, pushed Ash's away, and threatened, "Touch my daughter again, and I'll kill you!" He gently wiped Carrie's tears, his heart aching. "Daddy, can I tell you what I heard?" Darius could only nod in agreement. What else could he do? To prove his innocence, he had to let his daughter tell the truth. But what his daughter said next ... "Oh! You devil. Be gentle! You're hurting me! "You beast! You're so strong, I love it!" She even imitated Norma's moans. Carrie didn't know what those sounds meant. Her innocent eyes made the whole scene look somewhat amusing. Everyone that was present was an adult, and they understood perfectly well. "Vere!" Ash snarled, "If I don't tear you apart today, I wouldn't consider myself a human!" "Liars, all of you!" Norma screamed. "Cari is just a child; she couldn't possibly understand this. You must have coached her beforehand!" She pointed at Darius and accused him, "You're truly vile! Using your daughter to frame us! "Do you know how much psychological harm this will cause her?" "That's enough! Shut up!" Darius barked, his expression cold. "You think your lies can twist the truth? If Carrie's words aren't enough, then listen to this." Darius played a recording on his phone. It was Carrie's call for help and the sounds of two having their affair. "Daddy, the house is on fire! "Cough, cough. There's a big fire. Cari is going to burn to death! "Daddy, you have to come quickly and save me! I'm so scared!" Hearing her own voice again, Carrie became visibly emotional. She said, "Daddy, Mummy started the fire. "I accidentally opened the door. That man said they needed to kill me. Mummy said to burn me alive." These words made Norma turn pale instantly. "You little liar, you're slandering me!" Boom! Darius's fury exploded. He threw Vere and Norma out of the room. "Ash, they're yours. But don't kill them just yet. Once my daughter is healed, I will make them suffer a fate worse than death."
