Chapter 13 Thirteen

Alicia stopped on her spot; she couldn’t get herself to continue moving. Just then, someone brushed past her and straight into Leo’s arms. A quick look and she knew it was Joy, she turned back and saw Mary smiling as she walked past her too to her son. None of them seemed surprised to see him with an unknown woman, for all it’s worth, it looked like they were already aware of her existence because the way Joy was talking with the woman proved it. Mary too, after hugging Leo turned and talked to the woman, and even hugged her. These were the people who couldn’t even wish her a happy birthday this morning and neither did they attend her party. Mary had ignored her after screaming at her that she was wasting the pack’s money for her selfish reasons and she had reminded her that the money she was wasting was her family’s money, the money her bloodline worked so hard for and had nothing to do with the pack. Mary as always, had claimed that she was calling her poor and indirectly telling her that her family business had nothing to do with her own family. Before, Alicia would try to say otherwise but last week, she let the woman believe whatever she wanted to believe and since then, neither the woman nor the daughter had spoken to her, and today, they didn’t even wish her a happy birthday. Their attitude let her know that they were already aware that Leo was coming back today and they chose to let her be a fool, the Luna of the pack.
