Chapter 4 Four
Leo kept quiet for some seconds and Alicia sighed in her mind, knowing that he was going to reject. After all, her own brother, Alister, had rejected an Alpha’s daughter and Leo was right there with him, supporting him, so why should it be different with her?
“The truth is, why I would have really loved to be with my fated, how many wolves ended up being with their fated? Micah waited thirty-two years but never found her, and Alister and I have been waiting too, now where are the two of them? Alicia, this pack needs us, and since you are ready to reject your own fated for the sake of the pack, why shouldn’t I? I believe that together that we can raise the pack to the peak whilst upholding the justice and fairness your family sought for.” Leo said, surprising both Alicia and Sabrina.
He went on his knees and bowed to Sabrina before placing his hand on his chest. “Luna Sabrina, I swear to reject my fated mate should our path cross and focus my attention on the betterment of this pack. I promise my loyalty to Alicia, only she shall be my Luna and I must do right by my vow to make my late friend proud.”
Both Alicia and Sabrina shared a look with Sabrina’s eyes dancing in joy. Finally, she had found a worthy mate for her daughter and should have no worry in the world again.
Alicia was surprised, Leo had agreed too soon to this condition, although his words have no fault but the Leo she knows would have never agreed so fast. But then again, he made a valid point, where are her brothers who strongly believes on finding their fated mates? Forget it, it doesn’t matter. Rather than waste time waiting for a man whom she never know if he would show up, it’s better to grab the one in front of her. She had once crushed on him, so she was sure that loving him would be easy, she just have to wake up her long lost crush.

Seven days later, Alicia stared at herself in the mirror, her mother had ordered for her wedding gown and she was not allowed to see it until today. The dress was amazing, and she could actually feel the happiness of getting married. Leo and her had taken the days to their wedding to get to know each other more and last night, they have had their first kiss and Leo had promised her a memorable wedding night and despite not being a virgin, she was shy all over hearing him say that and whenever she thinks about it, her body shivers in tantalizing way.
The blood moon would rise later in the night at 8:00PM, then she and Leo could mark each other in order to bond to one another. Chosen mates can only mark each other under the blood moon because that is when the goddess’ light passes through the world. Fated mates can mark each other whenever they choose, and mostly, they mark each other on the very day they meet. The reason for that is that according to logic, they are compelled by the bond and scent of their mates, the scent taking over their wolves and driving them closer until they claim their better half. But it was not like that with chosen mates, their wolves will not be involved in the union until they mark each other under the Blood moon, thereby creating that mate-like bond.
‘Are we doing the right thing?’ Her wolf asked and she closed her eyes and counted from one to ten, heaved a long sigh and opened her eyes.
‘Yes we are, it’s the right track for the pack.’ She replied.
‘No matter what you do, I will always be here with you, you have my word.’ Her wolf promised and her eyes watered over.
‘Thank you, Nala, you are the best wolf a girl can ever ask for,’ Alicia said and just then, there was a knock on the door. “Come in,” she ushered and the door opened to reveal an omega. It was time for her to walk down the aisle. Glancing once more at the mirror, Alicia blew out a long breath and turned to the Omega. Let’s get this over with, she thought as they left the room.
At exactly 7:55PM, Alicia, Leo and other wolves who wanted to mark each other gathered in the training ground. The ladies had nothing on but a piece of white clothing to cover their nakedness and the men were in black pants. They all stared at the moon, watching and their well-wishers gathered around them. Once the clock struck eight, the bright moon started coloring a dark shade of red and soon, it was blood red. The wedded couples all shifted into their wolves and everyone watched as each couple wolves walked up to each other and marked each other, generating the mating bond.
The blood moon only lasts for five minutes and soon, the red color cleared from the moon, leaving it with it’s bright white color. The now mated wolves each went to a room to change back into humans and to cloth themselves. The reception followed immediately and once the couples returned, everyone clapped and wish them well. The owners of the Night were Leo and Alicia, as the other couples have already had their wedding before and only just marked each other tonight, Alicia and Leo easily stole the show and not just because it was their wedding day, but because they are now the Alpha and Luna of the pack.
When they emerged from the changing room, every wolf bowed to them. Leo, the once gamma wolf, was now the Alpha of Blood Stone pack and Alicia, his Luna. Sabrina stared in content from her seat, she knew she had taken a drastic measure, but she would choose this measure over and over again as long as it guaranteed the survival of her only surviving child. She knows her husband would support her decision and so silently gave the newly wedded her blessing.
Everywhere was in merriment, people were eating, laughing, discussing and dancing. Alicia chuckled from her seat as the Luna, watching the performance.
“It went surprisingly better than I expected.” Leo said and she turned to him. He smiled at her, his eyes going to his mark on her neck. “Blade is satisfied with you.”
Alicia smiled, “Nala is satisfied with him too.”
He smiled and brought their linked hands to his lips, placing a soft kiss on her knuckles. “I promise I will look after the both of you so well that you would forget I am not your fated.”
Alicia chuckled, “we would hold you to that.”
“I am a man of my words.” He leaned over and kissed her. Alicia sighed in content, yes, she can live like this, she can survive it. “You looked so lovely in the wedding dress that all I kept thinking about was tearing it off of you.”
“If you liked it so much, I can wear it for you tonight.” She whispered.
Leo looked into her gray eyes, “why are you making it so easy to love you?”
Alicia chuckled, “it was never that hard.”
“Yes, you are right, it never was.” He kissed her forehead, loving the way her white hair glinted in the night. “I just can’t wait.”
“Should we sneak out?”
“Oh my gosh, I think I’m married to the baddest Luna,” he teased and she laughed.
“You don’t like it?”
“Are you kidding? I fucking love it.” He closed his eyes, breathing in her scent. Now that they had marked each other, they were connected and he could feel that she wasn’t faking it, and neither was he.
“Then?” Alicia looked up at him, his brown eyes darkened, laced with his desire and she knew his wolf was about to take over. She could feel her own wolf getting excited too but before Leo could respond, one of the warrior wolves rushed into the reception looking panicked.
Leo turned to him, switching into Alpha mode instantly. “What is it?”
“Alpha,” the man called, “the barbarians, they are in the east region.”
