Chapter 7 The Life-and-death Dilemma Of His Ex-wife's Young Son
Eric Sinclair was still in a deep slumber, showing no signs of waking up.
Aurora Sinclair looked at her son, who seemed to be unharmed for the moment, and managed to calm down a bit. She slowly inched towards Little Cutie, the knife in her hand still firmly pressed against Luna Moretti, its cold tip occasionally grazing Luna Moretti's throat, causing her to tremble even more violently.
"Dodo, Dodo, wake up quickly!" Aurora Sinclair stared anxiously at her son's face, calling out to him for a long time. Finally, Eric Sinclair slowly opened his eyes, rubbing them sleepily.
"Mom..."
"Get up quickly and come to mom's side. We're going home." Aurora Sinclair eyed the bodyguard not far away warily. Holding Luna Moretti hostage, she slowly backed towards the door with Dodo. However, at that moment, the door behind them was suddenly pushed open forcefully. Aurora Sinclair's back was hit hard, and the knife in her hand dropped to the ground.
Luna Moretti got up from the ground in a sorry state, touched her neck, and her expression turned even more vicious. She shrieked at another bodyguard at the door, "Seize this woman for me! And that little brat! I want them to suffer a fate worse than death!" A rough - handed man immediately grabbed Aurora Sinclair by the neck, lifted her up, and threw her into the middle of the room. Eric Sinclair, crying and shouting, kicked and struggled against the man, but was grabbed by Luna Moretti and slapped hard across the face.
"You little bastard, you and your shameless mother will both die here today!"
"Mom!" The two bodyguards pinned Aurora Sinclair to the ground and started tearing at her clothes, laughing lewdly from time to time. Eric Sinclair, like a frenzied little beast, kicked and fought Luna Moretti with all his might, but was pushed hard by her and fell against a rickety shelf nearby.
With a loud crash, the already - precarious shelf collapsed, crashing down onto the small body.
"Dodo!"
At this moment, a sharp screech of brakes came from the door, and a man exuding a chilling aura appeared at the entrance.
"Luna Moretti, do you want to die?" Ryan Miller's eyes were filled with a murderous intent that seemed almost tangible. His eyes were blood - red as he stared at Eric Sinclair, who was pinned under the shelf, and Aurora Sinclair, whose clothes were in disarray. He grabbed the bodyguard's wrist and gave it a violent twist. The clear sound of a bone breaking echoed like a devil's whistle in Luna Moretti's ears. Aurora Sinclair quickly struggled to her feet, ran over with tears streaming down her face, moved the shelf, and gently picked up the blood - covered child in her arms. "Dodo..."
At the hospital entrance, Aurora Sinclair and Ryan Miller sat outside the emergency room, the atmosphere heavy and oppressive.
"The RHO - type blood we've stocked is running low. We need a family member to donate blood." The doctor walked up to the two of them anxiously. "Which of the parents has the same blood type as the child?"
"I do." Before Aurora Sinclair could react, Ryan Miller had already rolled up his sleeves and followed the doctor into the ward.
Aurora Sinclair was left alone in the corridor. She hung her head low, covering her face with her blood - and - dust - covered hands. Tears trickled down through her fingers. She deeply regretted it. She should have returned to New York the first time she met Ryan Miller... She had made up her mind to have nothing to do with this man, so why did trouble still come to her?
"Stop crying. Wipe your face." A wet wipe was held out in front of her. Aurora Sinclair looked up, staring fixedly at the man in front of her, without reaching for the wipe. Ryan Miller lowered his eyes and was silent for a while. Then he tore open the wet wipe and reached out to wipe her face, but was slapped away by Aurora Sinclair.
"Isn't it enough that you've hurt me? Do you want to kill my Dodo too?" Her voice was so flat that it was impossible to tell her emotions, but it made Ryan Miller feel as if his heart was being tightly gripped, and it was hard for him to breathe.
"I'll give you and Dodo an explanation."
"I don't want your explanation! I just want you to stay away from me and Dodo with that woman!" Aurora Sinclair's face was as pale as paper. She struggled to stand up from the chair, grabbed Ryan Miller's collar fiercely, and shouted, "Do you understand? Get out! Never appear in front of me and Dodo again!" As if she had used up all her strength, she slowly pushed Ryan Miller away and stumbled over to the operating room door, then crouched down slowly.
Ryan Miller unconsciously clenched his fists, his nails digging deep into his palms. It was a long time before he released his fists.
"Have all the people been taken there?"
"Yes, but the old lady won't let us take the young master away..."
Ryan Miller slowly tightened his grip on his phone.
"I'll go and get him myself."
In the living room of Miller Group.
Luna Moretti knelt in front of Madeline Miller in fear, holding Oliver Miller, who looked terrified, tightly in her arms. "Old lady, please save our mother - and - son. I didn't mean to. I was just so afraid that Ryan would be taken away..."
"You should apologize to Ryan later." Madeline Miller glanced at the group of black - clothed bodyguards standing beside the mother - and - son. "You all step back. I'll talk to Ryan properly."
"Old lady, the young master is back."
Madeline Miller looked up and couldn't help frowning. "Ryan, you don't need to hurt the woman who gave birth to your son for the sake of an ex - wife who's already divorced."
Ryan Miller silently placed the paternity test report in front of his mother.
Madeline Miller looked at the two reports. After a long while, she stared blankly at her son. "Eric Sinclair... is he your and Aurora's child? And Oliver..."
"Yes." Ryan Miller's expression became even colder. "He's still in the hospital, fighting for his life, all because of this mother - and - son pair!"
Oliver Miller was so frightened that he let out a shrill scream, his face covered in tears. "Grandma, grandma, save me. Dad is going to kill me and mom for that little bastard!" A long, slender hand grabbed Oliver Miller forcefully and pulled him out of Luna Moretti's arms.
"You should ask your mother who the real bastard is." Ryan Miller threw him indifferently onto the carpet and his cold gaze slowly fixed on Luna Moretti's face.
"Lock this mother - and - son pair in the dungeon. As for those two bodyguards, gouge out their eyes, break their hands and feet, and throw them out!" Luna Moretti crawled towards Ryan Miller, tears and snot streaming down her face. "Ryan, Ryan... I was just muddle - headed for a moment. Please spare me! For all these years..." A clear sound of a bone breaking rang out. Ryan Miller's face darkened, and he kicked Luna Moretti hard in the chest.
"Not killing you immediately is already being extremely lenient."
"Take me to see my grandson!" Madeline Miller stood up shakily and grabbed Ryan Miller. "Whether you love Aurora or not, remarry her immediately! Bring my grandson back!"
Ryan Miller's steps faltered. Remembering Aurora Sinclair's cold and hateful gaze, he slightly lowered his eyes and nodded listlessly.
Night had fallen. After leaving home, Ryan Miller drove back to the hospital. The smell of cigarettes in the car was so strong that it could almost suffocate people, but he still smoked one cigarette after another, looking at the ward on the fourth floor with a bitter expression. The hospital had already called to say that Dodo had been out of danger, and his brain had not been severely damaged. He would wake up in at most two days.
After finishing a pack of cigarettes, he finally reached out to open the car door. Standing at the hospital entrance, he let the cold night wind blow away the smell on his body, and then slowly walked into the elevator.
There was only a dim night - light on in the ward.
"Dodo is out of danger. You really don't need to come back." Aurora Sinclair sat beside the hospital bed, her voice barely above a whisper. "When Dodo gets better, I'll take him back to New York."
"How can you take care of him all by yourself?" Ethan Walker's brows were tightly knitted, and his tone was a bit anxious. "I'll hand the project over to Harrison and book the earliest flight back to the country tomorrow."
"Really, there's no need. Emily Taylor will help me take care of him, and I'll also hire a nurse." Aurora Sinclair rubbed her temples. "You must keep an eye on the Fashion Week. If I really can't hold on, I'll let you know." Before Ethan Walker could say anything, Aurora Sinclair hung up the phone, pushed the ward door open, and walked out. At the door stood a man carrying a food box. A faint stubble had grown on his lips, and the dark circles under his eyes made him look even more haggard. Ryan Miller seemed not to expect her to open the door suddenly. He took a small step back and stammered, "Have something to eat..."
"Thank you, Mr. Miller, for your kindness, but I can order food myself." Aurora Sinclair gave him a disgusted look, the warning in her eyes clear. "Stay away from my son."
