Chapter 5 Secrets Of Ex-wives, FiancéEs And Children
"I'm fine. Is Dodo being good? I miss Dodo so much," Aurora Sinclair said with a gentle smile.
"Dodo is very good. As soon as we got off the plane, he asked me why you didn't come back with us. He must miss you too."
Suddenly, Ryan Miller snatched the phone from her hand. Aurora Sinclair's brows knitted in annoyance, and she immediately reached out to grab it back, but Ryan Miller had already seen the name on the screen.
"Ethan Walker..."
Ryan Miller's gaze turned icy and menacing. The anger in his eyes seemed on the verge of erupting as he demanded, "Is this the name of your current husband?"
"Mind your own business!"
Aurora Sinclair flew into a rage and lunged forward to retrieve the phone. However, her hands were firmly grasped by the man, and she was forcefully pushed onto the sofa.
"You said you'd marry no one but me back then... But right after the divorce, you got together with someone else and even had a child!" Ryan Miller seemed to be consumed by extreme anger. The hostility radiating from his entire body was like that of a demon from hell. "Aurora Sinclair, you really surprise me."
"I'm surely better than someone who claimed to only want to marry Sofia Moretti, divorced me, then married another woman and had a child. Mr. Miller, you were quite quick. That child looks about the same age as Dodo. I suppose it wasn't long after our divorce that you..."
"What are you talking about!"
The veins on Ryan Miller's forehead bulged, his face turning deathly pale. He furrowed his brows tightly and stared intently into Aurora Sinclair's eyes. "Who told you I got married? I just..."
Aurora Sinclair cut him off coldly, "I don't want to hear about Mr. Miller's love affairs. Mr. Miller, you may leave. I won't see you out."
The loathing in Aurora Sinclair's eyes pierced Ryan Miller even deeper. He released his hold on her in a daze, gave her one last look, and then turned around and left her house without another word.
What right did he have to interfere in her life?
Should he tell her that after the divorce, he found out that it wasn't her who seduced him, but his parents who were behind it?
Or should he tell her that the day before he was about to marry Sofia Moretti, he discovered that she was the one who was vain and materialistic, so he fled the wedding, and Sofia Moretti died in a car accident while trying to chase him back?
Should he tell her that he only took in Sofia Moretti's sister out of guilt, along with a child whose biological father was unknown, and that he never got married? Or should he tell her that he had been waiting for her to come back all these years?
What kind of man had this woman married... Ryan Miller slowly lifted his head from the steering wheel. A sharp, cold glint flashed in his eyes as he picked up his phone and dialed a number.
Aurora Sinclair ran her fingers through her hair in frustration. Just then, she saw her Little Cutie walking out, hugging a huge stuffed toy. "Mom, are you unhappy?"
"Mom feels happy the moment she sees my little treasure."
Aurora Sinclair hugged the toy and her son, and let out an almost imperceptible sigh. "Is my little one hungry? Mom is going out to buy groceries."
"I want to go with mom. I can help carry things."
Aurora Sinclair gently scratched Eric Sinclair's nose, then stood up, kissed her son, and picked up her bag. "Wait until you grow a little older, then you can help mom. For now, mom will go by herself."
Just as she walked out of the neighborhood, a white Lamborghini pulled up in front of her, blocking her way. The car window rolled down, and a woman wearing large sunglasses and looking extremely glamorous tilted her chin at Aurora Sinclair. "Ms. Sinclair, let's have a talk?"
Aurora Sinclair recognized the woman as being related to Ryan Miller at a glance. Her brows furrowed impatiently. "I have nothing to talk to you about."
"That's not up to you, Ms. Sinclair."
Several black - clad bodyguards suddenly emerged from nowhere. They grabbed Aurora Sinclair's arms and unceremoniously stuffed her into the back seat of a Land Rover parked nearby.
"Let me introduce myself. I'm Ryan's fiancée, Luna Moretti."
Fiancée? Not married?
The car came to a steady stop in front of a coffee shop. Luna Moretti curled her lips in disdain, shoved Aurora Sinclair into the store, and then summoned the waiter, ordering haughtily, "Bring Ms. Sinclair something to drink. Let her calm down."
"Get to the point," Aurora Sinclair responded coldly, her eyes filled with impatience.
"Ms. Sinclair, what I have to say is simple. Stay away from Ryan. I've heard about you from some people. When you married Ryan, wasn't it just for his money? Name your price. I can give it to you. You and that illegitimate child of yours had better never appear in front of Ryan and me again. We're getting married soon..."
As soon as the waiter placed a glass of ice - cold lemonade in front of Aurora Sinclair, she promptly picked up the glass and splashed the water straight onto Luna Moretti's face.
"If Ryan is so wealthy, why didn't he find you a good doctor to treat your illness?" Aurora Sinclair's tone was icy, and obvious anger flickered in her eyes. "It's you and Ryan who suddenly showed up in front of me, pestering me like two annoying flies, not me disturbing you. You had a child with Ryan before getting married, while my child was conceived within marriage. Don't you know very well who the so - called 'illegitimate child' is?"
Ryan Miller stood quietly behind the two women. Upon hearing this, a glint suddenly flashed in his eyes.
Conceived within marriage!
But just now, the assistant clearly told him that Aurora Sinclair had no record of getting married in New York in recent years...
Suddenly, a big hand tightly grasped Aurora Sinclair's wrist, and the man asked eagerly, "Was it that time? Were you already pregnant with our child when you divorced me?!"
Ryan Miller's voice trembled slightly. Gone was his usual cold and noble demeanor. The excited flames in his eyes were almost bursting out. However, a resounding slap landed on his face.
"Don't be so eager to be my son's father. You're not worthy!"
Aurora Sinclair's hand trembled slightly with anger. She picked up her bag, forcefully shook off Ryan Miller, and strode out. Only the man was left standing there, looking a bit dazed as he touched the bright red handprint on his face, and stared thoughtfully at her departing figure.
"Ryan, Ryan, are you okay? That woman is really too..."
"Who gave you the permission to look for her?" Ryan Miller's eyes turned cold and indifferent again, and a cold aura instantly spread around him. "Mind your own business. Other things are none of your concern."
A malicious glint flashed in Luna Moretti's eyes but was quickly hidden.
In the following few days, Ryan Miller and Luna Moretti finally stopped bothering the mother - son pair, and Aurora Sinclair enjoyed a peaceful time. Little Cutie had started school a couple of days ago, and she could finally focus on her work in peace.
Aurora Sinclair stretched her somewhat stiff arms and waist, then looked up at the clock hanging on the wall. It was almost time for Dodo to finish school.
She wondered if the little one would feel a little uncomfortable on his first day of kindergarten in the country.
A gentle smile unconsciously curved her lips. She picked up the car keys and walked out of the office.
"What? Dodo was picked up by a man?!" Aurora Sinclair looked at the kindergarten teacher with a surprised expression. She grabbed the teacher's hand in excitement. "How could you let someone take the child away casually?!"
"Ms. Sinclair, Dodo left with that man voluntarily. We asked Dodo, and he said it was an uncle that you also know!..." The teacher looked a bit flustered. Losing a child was a serious matter. "Oh, right. He said his surname was Miller."
Miller?
Aurora Sinclair's brows knitted even tighter. She ran out of the office, started the car, and sped away.
