Chapter 4 Ex-husband's Obsession And Suspicion
Ryan Miller couldn't help but feel an increasing sense of familiarity and affection towards the child. He usually wasn't fond of kids, yet at this moment, an inexplicable urge to hold this adorable little one welled up within him.
"Ryan?"
Eric Sinclair thought the name sounded somewhat familiar. He couldn't help but steal furtive glances at the man in front of him. Sensing his gaze, Ryan Miller turned towards him, a faint smile gracing his lips as he softly inquired, "Little friend, what's your name?"
"I'm Eric Sinclair. Uncle, you can call me Dodo."
Sinclair?
Ryan Miller's brows knitted slightly. He then asked, "Does your family live here?"
"My mom's company is here."
Ryan Miller gave Eric Sinclair a thoughtful look, then followed the direction the child pointed to, arriving at an office area that had evidently been newly renovated not long ago.
"This is it. Thank you, uncle." Eric Sinclair said with a smile, then called out "Mom" to the woman who emerged from the office upon hearing the sound. At that moment, he suddenly felt the arm holding him stiffen abruptly.
"Dodo, what happened?"
Aurora Sinclair's brows knitted tightly the moment she saw Ryan Miller and the mother - son pair behind him. She snatched Eric Sinclair from his arms in one swift motion and said coldly, "Mr. Miller, neither you nor your wife and child are welcome here. Please leave."
"Mom, I fell down, and this uncle sent me back. You should thank him." Eric Sinclair scratched his head in confusion. Seeing his mother's expression turn cold in an instant, he was completely at a loss as to what was going on.
"Thank you, Mr. Miller." A flicker of loathing passed through Aurora Sinclair's eyes. She coldly expressed her gratitude to Ryan Miller and then, holding Eric Sinclair, was about to leave. However, her shoulder was suddenly grabbed by the man.
"I think we should have a good talk, Miss Sinclair."
Before Aurora Sinclair could utter a word, she was forcefully dragged into the elevator by Ryan Miller, leaving Oliver Miller and his mother looking at each other in bewilderment.
"Mr. Miller, what on earth do you want? We have nothing to do with each other now! I have no interest in watching you flaunt your wife and child in front of me to disgust me!"
"Some things are better not discussed in front of the child. What do you think?" Ryan Miller tried his best to suppress the anger welling up in his heart. He clenched his fists tightly, struggling to calm himself down. Then, he glanced at Eric Sinclair and suggested, "How about I send you two home first?"
Aurora Sinclair pursed her lips, her hold on Dodo tightening a little more. She raised her eyes and cast a cold glance at Ryan Miller, then opened the car door and got in.
Throughout the journey, neither of them spoke a word. The atmosphere was as silent and oppressive as it had been when they went to get divorced.
Upon arriving home, Aurora Sinclair carried her son into the room.
"Dodo, Mom needs to talk to this uncle about something. Will you stay here obediently?"
Eric Sinclair nodded. Watching his mother close the door and walk out, he listened to the footsteps gradually fade away. Then, he secretly opened the door a crack.
"Whose child is this?"
"Is it any of your business? If Mr. Miller has come merely to pry into my personal affairs, then please leave. You have no right to interfere in whom I marry and have children with."
Ryan Miller rubbed his temples, trying to force down the discomfort in his heart. "Aurora Sinclair..."
Just then, the shrill ringtone of a mobile phone suddenly cut through the air. Aurora Sinclair glanced at the screen, and her eyes immediately softened.
"Ethan?"
"Are you satisfied with the office building?" The man's voice was deep and cool, instantly soothing Aurora Sinclair's agitated mood.
"The office building is great. How have you been recently? Has your headache flared up again?"
Ryan Miller stared intently at Aurora Sinclair, his eyes heavy. Although he couldn't hear the voice on the other end of the line, he could guess it was a man.
Had she... already gotten married?
The man suddenly clenched his fists tightly. For some inexplicable reason, a surge of nameless anger welled up in his heart.
