Chapter 3 Accidental Collision Of Budding Children: The Curtain Rises On The Mansion Feud
New York, the morning sunlight gently spills over the city, draping it in a thin golden veil.
Ethan Walker gently put down his phone, his movements exuding a sense of calm and determination. "I understand. Leave it to me," he said softly. Then, he turned around, his eyes carrying a hint of coldness as he quietly looked out of the floor - to - ceiling window. Outside, the world was bustling with traffic and people coming and going, but his mind was far from this prosperous scene. "Harrison, buy a floor of an office building in Nova City," he said in a deep and forceful voice, with an air of authority that brooked no argument.
The assistant, Harrison, nodded respectfully. Without asking a single question, he quietly exited the office. Ethan Walker then returned to his desk and his eyes involuntarily fell on a photo on the table. In the photo, Eric Sinclair was still a babbling little tot, riding on his shoulders. His big eyes were squinted into two thin slits with laughter, looking extremely cute. And Aurora Sinclair stood beside him, with a gentle and soft expression. The three of them together looked like a harmonious and beautiful family of three.
After a while, Harrison entered the office again and reported respectfully, "Young master, everything has been arranged properly."
Ethan Walker looked up, a hint of hesitation and confusion flashing in his eyes. After a long moment of daze, he slowly said, "Was it a mistake for me to let her return to the country?" His voice carried a trace of barely perceptible worry, as if he was struggling with a major decision that concerned fate.
Harrison, with his usual respectful smile, said softly, "If you didn't let Miss Sinclair return to the country, how could you defeat that person? She was originally part of your plan."
A fierce anger instantly burst out in Ethan Walker's eyes, and his gaze shot towards Harrison like a sharp blade. "Do you think I can only win by relying on a woman?"
Harrison was so frightened that he quickly lowered his head and said in a trembling voice, "No, young master..."
"Get out," Ethan Walker said icily and resolutely. With a wave of his hand, the steaming black tea on the table was swept onto the carpet, leaving a dark red mark on the maroon carpet, which was particularly eye - catching.
Harrison bowed deeply and then scurried out, carefully closing the office door behind him.
Time passed quickly, and half a month flew by in a flash.
"Wow, Aurora, this is just too luxurious! A whole floor of an office building!" Emily Taylor exclaimed excitedly as she happily hooked her arm around Aurora Sinclair's. While speaking, she couldn't help but tease Eric Sinclair in her arms. "Little Cutie! Who on earth is this Uncle Ethan you mentioned? Why didn't your mom tell your godmother about him before?"
Eric Sinclair blinked his big eyes and said earnestly, "Uncle Ethan is very kind. He has always taken good care of mom and me."
A glint of gossip sparkled in Emily Taylor's eyes. She tugged at Aurora Sinclair's sleeve and asked curiously, "Hey... Does he like your mom? Aurora, is he handsome? He's so rich and treats you so well. If it's suitable, you might as well get together with him."
Aurora Sinclair just smiled faintly and said in a calm tone, "I only regard him as my mentor. He bought this floor of the office building to expand his business in Nova City. It doesn't belong to me." As she spoke, she gently pushed open the office door, placed Little Cutie on the sofa, and kissed his little face tenderly. "Dodo, be a good boy. Mom and Godmother Emily need to work."
Eric Sinclair nodded obediently, his eyes twinkling with curiosity as he began to look around the office. "Can I go downstairs and play?"
Aurora Sinclair smiled and replied, "Yes, you can, but don't run around."
Upon hearing this, Eric Sinclair immediately ran downstairs with his short legs, full of excitement. However, as soon as he went downstairs, he was knocked to the ground by a little boy of similar height.
"Are you blind?" The little boy glared at Eric Sinclair arrogantly. "Do you know who my father is?"
Eric Sinclair frowned, a cool look in his eyes as he looked at the little boy. "You're so impolite even with your father's teachings. Your parents surely aren't nice people either."
"How dare you scold my parents!" The little boy became furious. He lunged at Eric Sinclair, trying to hit him. But Eric Sinclair easily pushed him away, and the little boy landed on the ground with a thud, bursting into tears.
"Oliver Miller, what are you doing?"
Eric Sinclair looked up and saw a tall and handsome man quickly approaching the child. A woman who seemed to be the child's mother hugged Oliver Miller with a distressed look on her face and gave Eric Sinclair a fierce glare. "Where did this wild child come from? So ill - mannered! He even dared to hit someone!"
Eric Sinclair felt a bit of a sting in the tip of his nose, and his eyes became slightly red. He lowered his head and rubbed his eyes gently. Then, he looked up, stubbornly facing the family of three across from him, and said righteously, "Your child bumped into me first and didn't even apologize. He said I was in his way. He's much more ill - mannered than me."
Ryan Miller's eyes grew colder. He pulled Oliver Miller, who was sobbing with snot and tears in his mother's arms, and asked sternly, "Oliver Miller, is that true? Apologize to the little friend now!"
"I don't need his apology." Eric Sinclair stood up from the ground, gave Oliver Miller a cold look, and started to limp away. Just then, he was suddenly picked up by a strong arm.
"Little friend, uncle will take you home."
