Chapter 56
Surprise buddy, had PTSD and depression way before this stupid experience. I have to be realistic here, I still flinch as sudden contact and loud noises, as well as nightmares. I really doubt that'll ever go away. I slowly made my way to a dresser in the corner, smiling when I saw Wesleys shirt and a pair of my shorts folded neatly. I dropped the gown before dressing as quickly as I could, his smell overpowering the gross antiseptic smell of the hospital. I opened the door to my room slowly, slipping through the hallway as quietly as I could, which wasn't very. I stubbed my toe on a corner and ended up hopping on my other foot while cursing very loudly, earning looks from mothers and the children they had their hands over. Red spread to my cheeks as I apologized and tried to make my way through the maze of hallways, finally coming to a waiting room. The room itself was filled with empty plastic chairs and a single TV in the corner, a blanket on the carpeted floor with my mate sleeping soundly. He looked like an utter wreck, his hair everywhere and a slight stubble appearing on his face. It was like the first time I had been in the hospital with him, but now I didn't have to sneak past him. I opened the glass door and slipped into the room as quietly as I could, taking one of the spare blankets they kept and laid down next to a sleeping Wesley. I curled up into him with my blanket and grinned when he unconsciously wrapped his arms around me, peeking up to kiss him on his lips. Goddess he was beautiful, and he was all mine.
The carpeted floor in the waiting room was a killer on my back, wolf healing or not. Although I guess being next to my mate is kinda a plus. I grinned when I woke up and felt him. His heat was still moving slowly, telling me he was still sleeping. I cracked open my eyes to find him covering me with his body practically, his wolf going on the defensive. I pried my arms out from his rip and placed my palm against his cheek, my thumb swiping across his skin. It was covered in stubble, and he looked absolutely exhausted. I moved my body a bit before I wiggled out of his grip, stretching my torso up. I hissed a bit when the stitched pulled, a dull pain radiated from my bones. Almost forgot about those injuries.
