Chapter 8
"Please leave." I whispered, my voice hoarse from my crying. I heard rustling, his body laying next to mine.
"Are you drunk?"
"No, god no I'm not drunk."
He stayed silent, his eyes watching the sky above me.
"Did whatever you leave school for go well?"
I heard him chuckle, takin a deep sigh before he spoke. "Yeah, also heard you left Andrew in the cafeteria."
"Hope he didn't get in too much trouble for me."
He laughed again, sending shivers down my spine.
He sat up, crossing his legs.
I sat up, shielding my face even though I knew he couldn't see me in the dark. He reached out to touch my arm but I flinched back, his hand wavering in the air.
"Emilia, wh-"
"I have to go." I quickly got up, sucking in a breathe when I moved my ribs the wrong way. My hands clutched my ribs, the sound of Wesley standing up reaching my ears. "Emilia, you better not have any fucking bruises."
I smiled at his voice, shutting my eyes before I began moving my feet.
"Goodnight Wesley."
I knew he was following me, my mother was smart. She had a trap set in place, unless you were her or me, or we gave you permission, you would end up directly on the other side of our home.
It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair that I had a mate that I adored so badly, why did he have to touch me?
I could live with him being with Paige, I could live with being my mothers punching bag for one more year. I could live, but when he touched me it was like he ignited a fire within me. I wanted to kiss him so desperately. I wanted to tell him what I was, tell him I know what the hell a mate is. I wanted him to mark me, make me his, and be the Luna that his pack deserves. Instead, I'm an idiotic daughter of a witch and a bastard wolf. I climbed into my bed quietly after showering and scrubbing my body as harsh as I could, desperately trying to get rid of the alcohol smell. I looked at myself in the mirror, my busted lip prominent along with the bruise along my jaw.
Thank god for concealer.

I smiled at Andrew the next morning, passing him and James. Wesley was no where in sight, undoubtedly doing Alpha duties. I heard them walking behind me, the Rogues seemingly setting Wesley on edge. Damn protective Alpha. I stepped into my English class, he bell ringing just as Wesley scrambled in. I smirked at his hair, pushed up everywhere, like he just got out of bed.
He walked over and sat in front of me, my nose taking a whiff just as my body completely stiffened. He smelt of Paige.
We went through class finishing the answers on the page in front of me. My answers were short and clipped, his guilt rolling off of him in waves. I stood as the bell rang again, grabbing my things as I tore out of class. His hand grabbed on my wrist, causing me to tear it away and flinch out of reflex.
"Don't touch me." I spoke lowly, his eyes swimming as he stared at me.
"Emilia-,"
"Go find Paige, I'm sure she made you happy this morning." I walked down the hallway after that, my heart ripping to pieces behind me.
