Chapter 40
I heard the pounding against the floor before I was swept up, fire sweeping under my skin as I shut my eyes. I relaxed when I didn't even know I was tensed, and burrowed my head deeper into his skin. He inhaled me deeply, placing kisses everywhere he could. "Oh god, I was so scared Princess." He lifted my head and placed his hands on both of my cheeks, placing such a deep kiss on my lips it drove me wild. "Why didn't you tell me, I would have quit everything and brought you away." "I had to protect you, you're my everything Wesley..." I trailed off, the pads of my thumb sweeping away the few tears that leaked from his eyes. "So you know? About you being my mate, and the love of my life, and my everything..." He trailed off, his eyes searching mine. They were full of hope and nerves, I could practically feel his apprehension from here. Did he seriously not think I would accept him? I nodded furiously, my eyes flickering between his own and his lips. "Of course I do, I'm sorry I hid for so long." He shook his head, swiping away my stray hairs. "So you accept me then?" "Well, duh!" He grinned before sweeping me up in his arms again, placing kisses all over my skin. It wasn't sexual kisses, hot breaths and racing hearts; no it was small peppering kisses that you give to something you love more than anything. Something that was your world, something that could do the unthinkable and still be forgiven. I looked over his shoulders to find the room now empty, shutting my eyes in thanks of the privacy they had given us. "When can I introduce you to the pack?" I stilled, rolling my lip through my teeth. "I don't really know, do you think they'd all hate me?" "Some might, but almost everyone will love you." I loved the fact he was blunt and honest, because not everyone would truly like me. Anyone that was loyal to Paige would probably detest me, and that's actually okay. I just honestly needed to find a girl to be my friend, all this testosterone has to be bad for me. "Okay," I whispered to him. "We can meet them whenever you're ready." He grinned as he led me up the stairs and down the hall, opening the door to what looked like his office. "Whys the house so silent and empty?" "This isn't the pack house, it's the house for the Alpha, Beta, Delta and all of their families." I nodded as he sat, and pulled me into his lap. I wiggled from his grasp and sat on the vision next to him, much to his protests. He finally relented when I placed my legs over his, but I could still hear him grumbling under his breath. "Why was it full a few weeks ago?" The door opened just as I spoke, Andrew and James walking in without Philip behind him. "What's going on?" Wesley stiffened slightly, before practically ripping me from the spot next to him and placing him in his lap. "The house was full because I allowed it, I wanted to have you to myself for a bit so I made everyone stay in the actual pack house. The reason they're both in here is because, well, we need to talk about what happened." He inhaled me, his nose rubbing against my skin. "O-okay, uh, Philip can be in here if he wants." My wolf had some form of bond with Philip, just like she had with James and Andrew, albeit the one with Andrew was stronger. The door opened slowly as Philip stuck his head in, walking to James side before giving me a small smile. "What do you all want to know?" I asked hesitantly, my fingers playing with themselves. "Everything, your mothers still alive and we need to know her antics." I squeezed my eyes shut, cursing myself for being so weak. So I told them everything. Every hit, cut, and slap. I told them about the booze, how on my first shift she almost killed me, how my powers were actually suppressed because of her fear of them. I tried to not tell them about how she reacted to Wesley, but they had already seen the memory form my loving of view, so I reluctantly told them. The guilt I felt from Wesley was astonishing, as well as the rage and pure fury. Andrew felt almost the exact same way, but I wasn't there to really help him. He ran from the room almost immediately and shifted, the sound of his thunderous paws being heard even when he was halfway through the territory. Philip led James out of the room quickly, leaving me to deal with Wesleys shaking fury. I had straddled him by now, with my hands wrapped around his neck as he inhaled the crook within my neck. He would growl in between breaths, lasting for almost hours until the sun faded and the dark of the night interrupted us. The Moon was gone and the stars didn't shine as bright as I wished they would, so our room was cast in shadows. I dozed in his lap, and I knew he was sleeping beneath me. I kept waking every couple of hours, or maybe it was minutes, I'm not really sure. I just know I fully bolted the next morning when Andrew walked into the office, his eyes shiny and his face full of guilt.
"Emilia," He whispered it low as to not wake up Wesley, who slightly stirred beneath me. "I, I'm sorry, but my dads downstairs, and he wants to speak to you."
