Chapter 7 Can We Really Do It?
But in that moment, she didn't have time to think about anything. She dared not look at Stefan again and hurriedly rushed into the bathroom.
Whitney's heart was still racing when she closed the bathroom door.
It was so close just now, and if it had gone a bit differently...
Whitney thought with fear, but at the same time, she was slightly startled.
She and Stefan were already mates now, even though they hadn't had their wedding yet. Even if something happened between them at this moment, it seemed to be expected. Escaping in such a panic, it was obvious that she hadn't fulfilled her responsibility as a mate.
Whitney felt a little regretful, but when she recalled the lustful look Stefan had just revealed, she couldn't help but feel a little scared.
No matter what, she and Stefan were still unfamiliar with each other. They had only met three times. If they were to engage in intimate activities today, she felt that the progression was a bit too fast.
On the other hand, Stefan's erection had occurred normally just now, so he was still capable of reproducing. It was just more tiring for Stefan as a mate since, during intercourse, his mate needed to be on top.
When she realized what she was thinking, Whitney couldn't help but scold herself. What was she thinking? She and Stefan were not yet at the stage of conceiving wolf cubs!
Whether Stefan can impregnate werewolf cubs or not doesn't matter. After all, she and he are getting married to avoid being sent to an old man as a mistress. How could the CEO of a big corporation choose an ordinary werewolf as a mate?
However, there was something else that made Whitney feel a little strange.
When she accidentally fell onto Stefan just now, Whitney accidentally touched his leg.
Whitney had always thought that someone like Stefan, who was disabled and hadn't used his legs for a long time, would have weak and atrophied leg muscles. But unexpectedly, Stefan's legs felt strong and definitely not like they had any disability.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
While Whitney was lost in her thoughts, a knocking sound suddenly came from outside the bathroom, interrupting her thoughts.
Whitney was startled and looked up. "What's wrong?"
"Open the door." Stefan's deep and pleasant voice came from outside.
She suddenly felt her heart pounding in her throat.
Open the door?
Why did Stefan want her to open the door?
Thinking of Stefan's deep and mysterious gaze just now, Whitney couldn't help but tightly clench her paw on the bathroom counter.
Seeing that Whitney didn't respond, Stefan said, "You dropped something."
Whitney's wandering thoughts were interrupted, and after hesitating for a moment, she finally walked to the side of the bathroom door and slowly opened it a crack.
Soon, Stefan's well-defined fingers reached in, holding a soft and white towel.
Whitney was instantly stunned.
"You were looking for this, right?" Stefan's tone carried a hint of amusement as he stood outside the door. Whitney's face instantly flushed with heat.
"Thank you," she quickly said, and she immediately took the towel and closed the door.
When Whitney came out after drying herself and changed into her pajamas, Stefan had already changed into a pair of dark blue silk pajamas. He was sitting on the bed with a notebook on his lap, quickly typing something.
She felt a bit strange again.
She had originally thought that since Stefan had difficulty walking, there should be many people taking care of his daily life. However, to her surprise, there were only Sebastian and Rose in the entire house, and no one was taking care of him personally.
For example, did he get onto the bed by himself?
Also, didn't he need to take a shower?
"Um..." she couldn't help but ask. "Do you need to take a shower?"
"I already did," Stefan replied briefly.
Whitney had been concerned that it might be inconvenient for him to shower alone, but she didn't expect that he had already taken one.
However, could it be that he was washing up somewhere outside of the home with another woman?
Whitney's imagination ran wild, but to be honest, even if she and Stefan were officially married and had a wedding ceremony, she didn't love him. She didn't mind if Stefan had a mistress. She just needed him to help her get through the current difficulties.
Whitney walked to the desk and started organizing her things for work the next day. Suddenly, she saw the ring she had taken off before showering on the table, and she couldn't help but pause for a moment.
She had almost forgotten about the wedding rings she had bought.
When she bought the rings, she had no idea that her husband was actually a billionaire CEO, so she chose a simple and inexpensive design.
But now, it seemed that the ring was too plain for Stefan.
Thinking about this, Whitney glanced at Stefan on the bed, who was completely focused on his work, and casually put her own ring into her bag. She then placed the ring she had originally intended for Stefan into the drawer of the dressing table.
After completing these tasks, Whitney finally climbed onto the bed.
To her relief, the bed was very spacious, with two sets of quilts and pillows. Stefan was lying on one side, and there was a gap of almost half a meter between them.
"Are you done?" Stefan asked casually, his gaze still fixed on the screen.
"Yes," Whitney replied, unable to resist glancing curiously at Stefan's screen.
Whitney knew that Stefan's company mainly dealt with funds and bonds. The computer screen was filled with colorful icons and lines, but she didn't understand and didn't bother to look further.
"Are you going to sleep?" Stefan suddenly asked, turning his head to glance at Whitney.
"Yes."
Stefan quickly turned off the bedside lamp.
As the room plunged into darkness, Whitney became a little nervous.
She and Stefan had registered for marriage, although it was said to be a mutually beneficial arrangement. But what should she do if Stefan had sexual needs? To be honest, she couldn't really accept intimate contact with a man right now. Just lying in the same bed with Stefan was already her limit.
Whitney lay stiffly in bed, as time passed by second by second, until she heard Stefan's steady breathing beside her. Then she relaxed and fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning, Whitney's phone alarm went off on time. She got up and realized that Stefan was no longer there.
She quickly freshened up, put on light makeup, and went downstairs.
As soon as she reached the staircase, Whitney smelled the aroma of breakfast.
Rose was busy placing the hot milk on the table and happened to see her. She immediately smiled kindly. "Good morning, Madam. I have prepared breakfast for you."
"Thank you. That's great."
Stefan was already at the dining table, holding a newspaper in one paw and casually picking up a cup with the other, bringing it to his lips.
When Whitney's gaze fell on Stefan's well-defined knuckles, she suddenly froze.
