I bang my hand uselessly at the bars of the cell, feeling mutinous. My main concern is for my mate and what she might be going through right now. It appeared that Alpha Leon had bought my story but for how long? Had he gone specifically back to get a hold of Charisma to make her confirm the lies I had told? I glared at the darkness of the room, feeling more than frustrated. I felt responsible for Charisma and at the first sign of trouble I had been overtaken. I was no mate, I thought dully, I was useless. Worse than useless. I knew that Charisma was in danger and there was nothing I could darn well do about it. Alpha Leon came waltzing back down the stairs, a strange glint in his eyes. I glared at him through the cells as several men came up behind him. What was this? Was the coward not able to face me one on one, even as confined to a cell as I was? I gave a snarl.
