Cody’s determination to stop me only furthered my resolve. I sought out a makeover the next day, slightly pained that for the first time since I had brought him back with me, we spent a night apart together. I headed into the salon and peered at my new look, the stylist practically beaming at me. Gone was my trademark black and red hair. She had bleached my hair to an inch of its life and now it was a gold caramel blonde colour with my eyes now a big crystal blue, my body tanned to a creamy light gold. I looked, I thought wryly, not myself, which of course had been the reason. It would take some getting used to, I thought, but it had been well worth the price and the time it had taken. I wondered silently if my mate would even recognize me in this outfit, let alone with the makeup applied. I exited, assured the stylist would keep my secret and re-entered the castle subtly. I ran into Lilith on the way to find my most trusted of men. As she collided with me, she immediately began to apologize.
