Chapter 4 Don't Eat Too Many Sweet Things
Ethen Frank, the chief secretary of Graham Group, walked alongside his imposing boss, unfazed by the admiring glances following them. He had long grown accustomed to his boss being the center of attention wherever they went.
As Ethen scanned his surroundings, a group of small children nearby caught his eye.
The four kids were dressed identically, carrying backpacks, and huddled around a woman.
Are they quadruplets? That's rare! Ethen thought, his curiosity piqued as he observed them.
His gaze then shifted to the woman beside the kids. The woman stood with her back to him, but her silhouette alone was striking.
Her elegant figure alone spoke volumes about her beauty.
Gavin peeked in Ethen's direction. The moment he noticed Ethen looking their way, he quickly turned away.
Daddy had landed and headed out of the airport!
Ethen caught sight of the side profile of the little boy from a distance and was surprised. "Mr. Graham, it's Mr. Gavin ... "
"Get in the car quickly. Don't waste any time," the man barked, bending down to get into the car.
Ethen turned around and saw the familiar "Gavin" sitting in the car.
He secretly let out a relieved sigh.
He smiled and shook his head, figuring he had mistaken someone for Gavin.
"Hi, Mr. Gavin!"
After greeting the little guy, he got into the passenger seat. When he looked back, the woman and the four adorable little boys were already gone.
Once Jasper was escorted into the car by the bodyguards, he was thrilled to see it was a Rolls-Royce.
No boy could resist cars, especially one so luxurious.
So he didn't run away. Instead, he ate his cotton candy while curiously looking around and touching everything.
The bodyguards couldn't help but wonder—why did it seem like Mr. Gavin was acting strangely today?
There were plenty of luxury cars at the boss's house, but they had never seen Mr. Gavin show any interest in them.
Jasper met their suspicious gaze and subtly toned down his expression, getting ready to meet the "Daddy."
Since the bodyguards had even mistaken him, there must be another child who looked just like him. They wouldn't have noticed the mix-up.
Yes, that must be it.
Could it be that Mommy gave birth to quintuplets instead of quadruplets?
Before long, Jasper saw Benjamin.
The little boy looked at the man getting into the car—cool, handsome, and exuding a powerful presence. He swallowed nervously.
Could this man really be his daddy?
Jasper stared at Benjamin, his curiosity piqued.
He resembled his brothers so much, so it must have been his daddy!
Benjamin noticed his son staring at him in a daze and raised an eyebrow.
"Did you come to pick me up?" Benjamin asked, pleased that his son had come to the airport specifically to pick him up.
Jasper still felt unfamiliar with Benjamin. He was afraid Benjamin would recognize him as the brother whose name he didn't even know, so he didn't dare speak.
But this daddy seemed pretty great.
Rich, handsome, and incredibly strong.
He could definitely protect Mommy!
The little guy took another bite of his cotton candy, his heart racing with excitement.
He finally had a dad!
Benjamin had already grown used to his son's quiet nature. He ruffled the little guy's hair and noticed the cotton candies in his hand. His gaze flickered for a moment.
The family's nutritionist had advised against giving the kids junk food. However, after Gavin had seen it on TV, he had become eager to try it.
Once Benjamin found out, he planned to hire a chef who specialized in making cotton candy, ensuring it was clean and safe for Gavin to eat.
But he hadn't expected Gavin to buy it himself—and even get five.
Benjamin furrowed his brow. Isn't that too much sugar for a child?
Still, he was happy that his son wanted to share something he liked with him. "Is this for Daddy?"
Benjamin intended to take all four cotton candies and leave just one for Gavin.
Jasper looked at the cotton candy in his hand, then at Benjamin, who had taken off his sunglasses. Benjamin's sharp, almond-shaped eyes made it hard to meet his gaze—his piercing stare seemed like it could read straight through to any secrets.
Jasper froze. The cotton candy in his hand was meant for his brothers and Mommy, not for him.
"I'll ... give you one!" he said, reluctantly handing one to Benjamin.
He had bought five but couldn't finish them all, and they were starting to melt.
Benjamin took the four cotton candies from his son's hand.
"Ah!" Jasper stared in shock, his eyes widening as the four cotton candies he held disappeared, leaving just one.
"Don't eat too many sweet things like this, or you'll get cavities!" Benjamin glanced at his son, keeping one for himself, then handed the rest to Ethen.
"Mr. Gavin, did you get some for me and the bodyguards, too? Thank you!" Ethen smiled warmly at the little boy. He took one cotton candy for himself and passed the remaining two to the bodyguards.
Jasper blinked and silently sighed in his heart.
Why was Daddy just like Mommy, only allowing me to have one cotton candy?
Benjamin glanced sideways at the little boy and noticed his slightly downcast expression. With a small smile, he handed the cotton candy back to him.
"If you want to have cotton candy in the future, just buy one. Don't get too many!"
"Alright," Jasper said softly, sitting off to the side with his treat, though his eyes occasionally darted toward Benjamin.
Benjamin noticed the way his son kept looking at him and found it a bit odd.
