Chapter 31 The Rythm

The beast came for them at an impossible-to-follow speed. One instant, it had been only a few feet away; the next, the clawed hand of the beast was inches from Kaiza's throat. Instinct had asserted itself. Kaiza dove to the side as the creature's claws raked the air where his neck had just been a beat ago. The earth beneath him trembled, dust and dirt swirling in the wake of the beast's blow.
