Chapter 20 Beneath The Eclipse

The earth beneath Kaiza's boots shook as he and Mina stood before the blackened cavern, its opening a gaping maw that seemed to devour the very light itself. The air reeked with a heavy, sulfuric stench, and soft whispers resonated within, as if the stone itself breathed. Though the fear clung to the air, there was an inexorable draw, a call that sang deep within Kaiza's soul. Mina stood beside him, her normally composed nature wavering for only a fraction of a second as she clenched her fist around her dagger. "This is it," she breathed, her voice near inaudible over the muted growl of the winds. "The place where it all started."
