Chapter 6 Making A Hard Decision

Justin Something was happening to her but I didn't know what it was. She looked scared. Terrified even. She backed away from me and after a few staggers, she started running. It was slow at first but suddenly she was running at an extremely fast pace and catching up with her in my human form was getting difficult so I switched to my wolf, my claws catching the cold air around us. Roderick, my beta, was right behind me and soon we caught up with her held her down. "Eliana! Eliana!" I gave her face s delicate tap, "Can you hear me Eliana?" I asked but was met with a loud silence, the only noise, her laboured breathing and the wind as it blew over the trees. "She's running a fever" I put my hand to her neck, confirming again what I was saying to Roderick. "We better take her back to her room then, it's too chilly out here" I sighed as I wrapped my hand around her securely and transported her back to the pack, my chambers specifically. I didn't know what was wrong with her and she was to remain in my chambers until I figured it out. I summoned the witch the next morning and she took a look at her and shook her head, "Her past is trying to reach out to her and there's nothing we can do to stop it" I frowned, running a hand through my hair in frustration, "What do you mean by her past trying to reach her? She's in so much pain can't you see?" "I see that Alpha but I have already told you to solution to her pains" she smiled, running her hands over Eliana's body, "She is your mate and it is only when you mark her as yours will her past have mercy and take it's time in revealing itself" I sighed, "But why? I don't understand" "The moon goddess does not need anyone to understand her. This is fate. It is destiny but I'll tell you this, she was brought her for one thing and without your bond she wouldn't be able to achieve that" I understood what she was saying but at the same time I felt lost. Eliana was a descendent of an ancient Luna who's gifts depended on her bond with an Alpha of great power and that Alpha was me in her case. Suddenly my mind went to the rouges and the last attack. They had aimed straight for her, wanting to kill her no doubt but why? "The rouges wanted to kill her specifically, the last time they attacked the pack" The witch closed her eyes and immediately chuckled, opening them and looking at Eliana. "The moon goddess is really a good crafter of destinies" Another satisfied smiled settled on her lips, "They want to kill her because they fear her. She has so much power inside her and they sense that but they can't kill her, they're not strong enough to" I exhaled, taking in all that she was saying. "That was why they couldn't kill her even when she was a little girl" The witch continued "You see this girl is a fulfilment of a prophecy but what people don't understand they fear and you Alpha, play a very big role in her fulfilling her destiny" All she was saying was giving me a headache and I opened my mouth to speak when all of a sudden Eliana screamed, "Let me go!" she jerked off from the bed so violently I thought her spine was going to snap. I exchanged a look with the witch and she sighed, "She's having dreams from her past" she explained what I already suspected. Another jerk and flapping of her arms, "No,No. Give me back my child!" her voice came out in a loud shrill form with was almost defeating. She was in a lot of pain but her eyes remained closed. "Why is it so violent? Why can't her past come to her in peace?" I frowned and the witch chuckled. "Haven't you been listening to all I've been saying? The past wants to reveal itself because by it's calculation she should have found her mate and been marked by now because that means she's not alone and she has the ability to access all her powers but she hasn't been marked so to it, she's till weak and this is it's way of saying 'Hurry up, we've got things to do', understand now?" I nodded, taking in all she had said, my eyes glued to Eliana who was whimpering and crying profusely. She looked like she was in so much pain, "Go close to her and hold her hand, I want you to see this so you understand better" the witch instructed and I did as she said, going to stand beside Eliana's bed and delicately taking her hand in mine and suddenly the whimpering stopped although she was still crying, I looked at the witch for an explanation she smiled, seeming to be enjoying herself but I knew she was just doing her work, "Did you see that? Just being close to her and you have calmed her down to an extent" "It's because of the mate bond right?" I asked, running a finger through Eliana's hand. "Exactly. You are the strength she needs and if you want to free her totally from this pain then you will have to mark her" The witch was right but there was no way I was going to mark her as mine without her permission especially when I knew that she didn't want me at all. Especially when I remember that she was on the edge of rejecting me a few hours ago. The thought made my wolf whimper and I sighed, the moon goddess really had a dire sense of humor. "I can't mark her without her permission" I told the witch and she nodded, "I understand but also understand that before she might say yes to you marking her she would already be far gone or even dead" "Far gone or dead? What do you mean?" "I mean this memories will keep trying to penetrate into her life now and soon she won't know the difference between the past and her present. The anomaly can kill her" Hearing that she could die, my wolf whined and was fighting to come forth with the intention of sinking his teeth into her neck and marking her but I fought back. She was my mate and claiming her without her permission was more than wrong. I looked at the witch, "I can't forcefully mark her" I exhaled deeply, "I'll wait until she wakes up".
