Chapter 2 Mona Middleton
Tyler's heart constricted painfully.
The last glimmer of hope he held onto vanished completely.
"Clarissa, are you really going to strip me of all dignity?"
Clarissa remained silent, offering no response.
Willa took over with a sneer. "This decision wasn't just made by the two of us. It was the result of a unanimous vote by the entire Preston family. If you feel wronged, I can only say that's unfortunate."
"Hah."
Tyler let out a cold, bitter laugh.
"I don't care about any of the money or assets.
"But the ruby bracelet I gave you back then, you have to return it.
"That bracelet is the Glisson family heirloom for future daughters-in-law.
"You no longer deserve to wear it."
Clarissa was stunned.
At this moment, Tyler felt as though his heart had turned to stone.
"It's just a worthless bracelet, who cares."
With sharp eyes, Willa quickly yanked the bracelet off Clarissa's wrist.
She then disdainfully tossed it at Tyler.
"Take it and get out!"
Tyler said nothing more.
With a grim expression, he turned and walked out the door.
But just as he was about to leave, Tyler suddenly stopped.
He coldly asked, "How long have you and Elbert Barton been together?"
Clarissa's body stiffened abruptly.
Tyler asked again, "In the past three years, you've secretly had three abortions, and they weren't even from the same man, right?
"Originally, I kept comforting myself, giving you chances again and again. But now, I suddenly understand completely. A woman like you doesn't deserve it!"
Hearing this, Clarissa flew into a rage.
"Tyler, you investigated me? What do you mean?!"
But Tyler just stared at her indifferently.
"Now I completely agree to leave with nothing.
"Because anything related to you ...
"I find it disgusting!"
Bang!
With a loud bang, Tyler slammed the door and stormed out.
His heart was filled with rage and humiliation he had nowhere to release.
But just as he reached the roadside, a Rolls-Royce Phantom screeched to a halt, blocking his path.
The door swung open, revealing a breathtakingly beautiful woman, her demeanor as cold as an ice queen.
Her figure was a masterpiece— a generous bust, a slender waist, and long, shapely legs.
She was a vision that could stop hearts.
Yet, the icy aura she exuded made the surrounding air feel several degrees colder.
But at this moment, this usually icy woman's face was etched with anxiety and helplessness.
The sight of Tyler only intensified her panic.
She blurted out, "Dr. Glisson, I finally found you!
"Please, I beg you, save my grandmother!
"As long as you're willing to help ...
"Uh ... as long as you can wake her up ...
"I'll marry you!!"
"Are you from the Middleton family?"
The woman nodded softly.
"Yes, I am Mona Middleton. I humbly request Dr. Glisson's miraculous hands to save my grandmother."
Tyler nodded inwardly.
She was as expected of a lady from a prestigious family.
Though her demeanor was cold, her upbringing was impeccable.
A few days ago, the Middleton family had sent someone to seek out Tyler, requesting his help with an illness.
They even offered him a rare medicinal herb he'd been searching for years, the Silverfin Herb as a gift with no strings attached.
Their attitude and sincerity were undeniable.
And now, the crown jewel of the Middleton family, Mona, had personally come to ask for his help.
Tyler had no reason to refuse.
But just as Tyler was about to get into the car, Clarissa's furious voice cut through the air.
"Tyler, you're nothing but a sc*mbag!
"You just divorced me, and now you're with another woman?
"Even a dog would be more loyal than you!
"Do you even deserve to be called a man?"
Tyler's eyes instantly turned cold.
"Clarissa, don't use your filthy mind to judge me. Not everyone is as shameless as you!"
"Tyler, who are you calling shameless?"
At that moment, Willa also came out, and in her fury, she raised her hand to slap Tyler across the face.
Smack!
Her wrist was firmly caught by a bodyguard.
Mona stepped forward, like a queen, towering over Clarissa.
"Clarissa Preston, is it?
"You're the most foolish woman I've ever met, bar none.
"If you delay Mr. Glisson from saving a life, I'll kill you!"
"I ... I ... "
Even someone as sharp-tongued as Willa found herself at a loss for words in the face of Mona's overwhelming aura, her throat dry and words tumbling.
As for Clarissa, who was even more fragile, she stood pale and speechless before this powerful woman who utterly dominated her.
At that moment, they finally understood what it meant to be truly above others.
What it meant to be as cold as ice.
What it meant to command a room with a mere glance.
It wasn't until Tyler and Mona had driven away, disappearing down the road, that they finally snapped out of their fearful daze.
However, they were still shaken and uneasy.
"Mom, who was that woman?"
Clarissa's voice trembled slightly. "Her presence was so overwhelming."
Willa froze, and then her face paled.
"I remember now. She's the eldest daughter of the Middleton family, one of the four great families.
"She's also the actual head of the Middleton Group, worth over a billion at just 23 years old."
Clarissa was dumbfounded before finally shouting in surprise.
"What?!"
